I got the idea for this thread in the thread about road conditions. If you're stuck inside tonight, which TV shows/movies do you plan to watch?
I'll most likely be watching The Clash DVD "Westway to the World" and maybe a few episodes from the Simpsons Season 3 set.

Good topic Mikeyboy. I've already mentioned T3, Matrix 2, and Bourne Identity in the other thread. I also have some episodes of Stargate to catch up on. After that? Dunno. I could always sit through (again) Galaxy Quest, Die Hard, Nightmare Before Christmas, Thunderball, Dr No, the Abyss, First Contact, Indiana Jones (1 or 3), Fantastic Voyage, Forbidden Planet, The Ref, Red Dwarf - all my standby's

We'll be looking for something on cable or maybe movies on demand ppv. I managed to lay in a supply of groceries but missed the video store. Maybe the kids will watch Nemo for the gabillionth time.

Holy crap, good thread! Especially since there is ZERO on tv tonight. wtf? I'm watching dateline for god sakes. Looking at my dvds, maybe it's a Usual Suspects night. Otherwise, maybe I'll check out this new show on HBO on Demand, called Curb Your Enthusiasm. There's a good buzz about it.

I guess now I am supposed to apologize for recognizing the comedic genius of Curb Your Enthusiasm.
Nah-- apologize is not in my vocabulary.
I plan to spend my time reading about plastic snow shovels and pondering on whether or not I enjoy anal sex, when a pinkie in the ass seems to be as much stimulation that I need while getting off.

ok so I watched the second Matrix - a couple of comments (if I may as I'm sure there's another thread on it) - it could have been 40 minutes. The effects (though good) didnt have a lot to do with the plot which was basically Neo's issue with his dream, a bit about the Keymaker, changes with Mr Smith, and the Architech discussion - that's it. Not a whole lot else there. I suspect they could have trimmed it down and the next one and made it one movie.
Oh well, still have T3 and Bourne Identity left ...

Also picked up the Simpsons Hit and Run for PS2.
So it was a fun night.

Bowie, Md.: Berkeley, I'm so glad you're back!; I've really missed The Far Side all these years.
Berkeley Breathed: Yes, thank you, but I don't draw Far Side. I draw Calvin and Hobbes.

Me, the DVD's that I can always watch over and over again, especially on snowy days are Rio Bravo, The Godfather, and Bottle Rocket.
Now, I saw Too Cute's younger sister the other night, she met up with us to go to a XMAS party, and she wanted to borrow the following two DVD's, which I talk about all the time and she had never seen (she's 21.)
True Romance
Reno (The Professional)
She emailed me today and it was like she had been eating Lucky Charms all her life but with just the cereal pieces and I had given her the marshmallows.
I love turning people on to good shit.

The Right Stuff.
They put out a 2 disc edition of this movie; which is weird coz disc one is just the movie and the damned thing approaches 4 hours.
Disc 2 is full of cool stuff on how they did the special effects, as this wasn't any CGI, and it interviews Yeager, some of the original Mercury Seven, who tell what some was dead on right and some dead on wrong, like Gus accidentally blowing the hatch.
And some very cool interviews with Dennis Quaid, Ed Harris, Fred Ward, Harry Shearer, Jeff Goldblum, and a few zillion others; you forget how many people were in it, and how it basically bombed when released, some thinking it was timed to co-incide with Sen. Glenn's bid for Prez, and anyway space-nerds like me Live for this movie; the Yeager Sequences are all too amazing when you realize these things really happened.
More guys [and ladies] like that we'd be to Pluto by now...

Hey Chairman, the Profession's name is Leon, not Reno. And I still love Natalie Portman in that movie.
I have my LOTR TTT:EE dvds playing right now.

Yeah I knew that, screwed up. And why shouldn't you still love Natalie Portman in that movie, it's her only good one.
Too bad she had to grow up. Or have a bad agent.
Speaking of Leon, have you seen Reno in The Crimson Rivers? Good movie that may have slipped under people's radar.
