View Full Version : i've never seen ET

when ET came out, my parents took my sister to see it. they thought that i was too young, so they left me with my grandparents. to this day, i still haven't seen it.
i had a little ET doll, because they were in. but i never understood anything about him.
i've probably heard about a million people say "ET, phone home," but i've never known why, or what it meant.
one pop culture (is it even "pop" anymore?) staple missed, and i feel completely alienated from society.

You and me both!
I have NO interest whatsoever. I'll probably go to the grave without seeing it.
Yeah, I know, I'm anti-American. Bite me. I'm anti Spielberg.

That is EXACTLY how I feel about any of the Star Wars movies.
As for no seeing ET, you aren't missing anything.

right on tazz. fuck matrix3, fuck sw3, fuck lotr3 - franchise movies prove that you can ruin an unruinable movie.

i don't think that;s what tazz was saying (correct me if i'm wrong, sir). he said "any" star wars movies, meaning even the first one... nothing to do with ruining a great movie.

C'mon! When E.T. sees Yoda and says "Home!", that was hilarious!
E.T. is a good movie.
And Tazz, I hope you are talking about the new Star Wars movies. If not, check out the original 3. It should be required viewing.

I can't believe all you Commies! Gets back to the Iron Curtain, Soviettes! Gets back! To where you once belong! And you, Mikeyboy, "ET didn't age well"? Well, let me tell you about another person that some people claim didn't age well- that person... is America.
(I realize our colors aren't red, green, and blue but the white doesn't come out too well...sorry...)

All them doctors and stuff makes me queasy. I watched for the first couple of seasons, but once that one blonde doctor left and Doctor Green from Revenge of the Nerds was with his daughter, I lost interest.

Game, I'm straight outta 1981 and I've also never seen it. I heard from all the people who have though that its not really one of those films thats worth going back and watching. ET is just one film from a long list of "movies everyone's seen" that I have never been privy to.

When it came out, my dad took me to see it. He loved it so much, he made me see it a second time with my mother and sister. I didn't like it the first time, still didn't like it the second.
Have no desire to ever sit through it again.

My parents took me to see it in the theatre. I must have been five. I think I slept through the last hour. The parts I remember were good though.

I saw it once when it first came out. I liked it, but I was a kid. I haven't seen it since. My friend has never seen it either. And I thought she was the only one who didn't see it. She'll be happy to know there are others out there.

I meant any of the Star Wars movies, including the original three. I have no desire to see them at all.

I saw a few seconds of this movie on TV when it aired for the first time. How shall I say it - it bored my ass.

I don't think I've ever seen the movie in it's entirety. Maybe the first 30 minutes but then lost intrest. And then bits and pieces the rest of the way. I basically rely on some clips I see on TV.

Haven't seen Star Wars or any of the Star Treks since that lame shit with the whales.
Haven't seen Titanic, since I already knew the ending.
