View Full Version : I can't shop for clothes with other people

I have to go by myself when I shop for clothes. If I'm with a friend I feel rushed or I'm wasting their time if I go to a dressing room. I think it all stems from when my dad would take me clothes shopping when I was a kid. If I took more than 10 minutes to pick out stuff he'd say, "You don't know what you want! Hurry up!" Ugh! The day I got my driver's license and could go shopping by myself was the best day of my life!

I can't shop for clothes period!!! Usually when I buy stuff and I take them home I'm like, "God, why did I ever buy this crap?" Same thing with shoes and sneakers. I could have something for more than a year before I actually wear it out of desperation.
Most of the clothes that I wear regularly were given to me as presents. Modells is my clothing and sneaker store. I could wear jerseys all day. In fact, I got a whole lot of them.

I hate clothes shopping for myself and others.
Unfortunately, it reflects in my appearance.

I can buy jeans. Some casual clothes. But I hate the overall shopping experience. I'll wear shoes until someone gives me money to buy news ones because they can't stand to look at mine.

I absolutely NEED a woman with me when I shop. I can look at stuff by myself, but to actually buy it, I need the woman to say it looks good. It's great when I'm in a relationship, but uhhhh, I havent been shopping for quite awhile. sigh.

neither my gf or i can shop together she is always picking things out for me and saying this would make u look so cute or you'll look good in this but what ever she picks never fits right or is not even close to the style i wear
as for her i can't sit in a store for more than 5 mins. and she has to try it all on and then when she does buy it she goes home and try it on again and doesn't like it and if i try to pick some thing out for her it's alway" thats to short or too slutty or i don't like the school girl skirt"

I like shopping for people.
Like, Alan Alda. I like shopping for him.
But God forbid if I try to give him the slippers I picked out for him in his house at three in the morning after I've broken in with a Krusty Krowbar, God Forbid I do something nice for sweet Mr. Alda.
By the way, Mr. Rickles, I've picked out a nice hat for you so if you could just leave your backdoor open tonight it- ahh, nevermind; I can get in.

Like Chris, I need a woman's opinion too. I know what I like but generally have horrible taste in clothes.

I like going shopping for clothes. I'm usually in and out in 20-30 minutes, as I go in for something specific. If I'm looking for something harder to find, I'll hit a few stores and browse a little too. I just tend to dislike the people at the mall.
When I went with my ex, I had no problems either. I would give my opinion, and she'd consider it (or so she said). As long as I didn't have to go somewhere soon, I was fine.

Way way back in the day, when disco polluted our fair land, at the Merry Go Round at Springfield Mall, there were some very hot, very ditsy gals working there on commission.
They'd do damned near anything to get you to buy clothes.
I used to go up there with my best friend and he'd watch while i tried on half the clothes in the store.
Said hot, ditsy salesgirls would put their hands all over me, just rubbing everything but the bulge in my crotch, telling me how good I looked and how they'd love to go out with me, if only I took advantage of their 2-for-1 deal...
After I'd had enough, I'd make my way to the register with an armload of clothes, get up there and begin patting my pockets.
I'd go from happily joking around to a seriously furrowed brow.
"Damn! I left my wallet in the car! Hold these clothes, ladies, I'll be right back!"
heh heh heh.
Back then, it was a cheap thrill, and every time we went up there, there were different girls working there, so the bit was repeated many times.

I spend hours just roaming the mall, i go into all the stores i frequent at least twice. Once to see what they have and the prices on the specfic things i want and then compare it to the rest of my other stores then back if i decide that's what I'm buying.
My dad is pretty cool with it, he'll just sit at this coffee shop they have and wait so i don't have to deal with incessant nagging. Plus it's really uncomfortable walking into a store to buy bras and such with your Father.
