I don't wear makeup often, nor do I wear much when I wear it... but I'm fascinated by mascara. I mean, you paint it on your lashes and it dries and it curls and you can put layers of it on itself... how cool is that?! Plus, while for some things like lip colors it pays to buy expensive stuff, I have yet to find a department store mascara that worked any better than any drug store brand.
So, while my previous favorite was wondercurl (not clumpy, but doesn't really lengthen or plump too much) I just bought some of that Revlon lash fantasy primer & mascara and it totally kicks ass. Not clumpy, and really makes your lashes quite long without making them look fat and gross. Anyhow, just wanted to share in case anyone else out there needs some new mascara.

I don't wear much (if any) make-up (maybe some pressed powder and a concealer). Years ago, I was a big fan of Maybelline Ultra Lash (do they even make that anymore???). Then when I started to work and made decent money, I opted for Clinique products (http://www.clinique.com/setcountry/home.tmpl?COUNTRY_ABBR=US) for make-up and skin care.
Water proof mascara tends to be a bit harsh. I like this mascara. (http://www.clinique.com/templates/products/sp_shaded.tmpl?CATEGORY_ID=CATEGORY4904&PRODUCT_ID=PROD557) It's gentle and doesn't run or flake.

Yeah, I've tried that clinique, it seems ok but it doesn't seem to dry as fast as the wondercurl and I don't like the shape of the brush too much.
I am a huge fan of other clinique products though, most of my other makeup is clinique... except their shampoo. Their shampoo sucks ass for my hair.

True. But I don't wear mascara that often so it isn't much of an issue. Otherwise, it's a good mascara.
I'm SO not a "girly girl" but Clinique skincare works well for me. I love the "three-step" products.

I heard they test mascara by putting it on the end of a sharp stick and poking a bunny rabbit in the eye with it.

i use the clinique mascara as well, when i use mascara at all. i always wear makeup, but i usually skip the mascara part. my eyelashes really don't look all that different with it than without it... so why bother?
i really like the clinique conditioner, though. good stuff.
