hey i've run out of ideas for music to steal. so give me the best song you've come across on kazaa or winmx that you didnt know about till you downloaded. genre doesnt matter i'll listen to anything as long as its good. i'll even contribute, fuel's cover of elton john's "daniel". good song and if i didnt steal music i would have never heard it.

"Jump Right In" by The Urge or just about anything by Dispatch. I accidentally found the acoustic version of Jason Mraz's "Remedy". Much better than the original.

I've lost all respect for you, Lisa.What? I like a bit of everything and I don't mind saying it. Perhaps instead I should have thought about it for a while and put down some shit like John Coltrane and Miles Davis to make everyone think I'm cultured.

You go girl..I mean woman!

Truly cultured people already have all of Trane's and Miles' albums on vinyl (even if they are younger than 40.)

They also know Robert Johnson is legendary but have no clue who Roberts Johnson may be (but they are willing to be enlightened, as cultured people realize there is always more culture to be had.)

If anyone actually sold their soul to the devil, it was THIS guy.

<img src="http://www.guitarnotes.com/rmmga/legends/robert_johnson/robert_johnson.gif"width=450>

Robert Johnson is fantastic. Listen to almost any of his songs and it instantly sounds familiar because it's the basis for practically every classic blues or rock guitar riff. Sure, there have been people who may have done what he did better, but it's mindblowing to hear him and realize this one man changed modern music so enormously all by himself.

Truly cultured people already have all of Trane's and Miles' albums on vinyl (even if they are younger than 40.)

I sold all of my vinyl when I sold my DJ equipment to keep my apartment back in college. Over 1,200 albums. It was so painful (And goddamn expensive and time-consuming) I swore never to become a crate-digger ever again.

ALL of Beethoven's quartets are kick ass. But if you like Op. 132, you should try the Grosse Fugue Op 133 (originally part of op. 130). That is completely nuts. Like literally. You can tell how insane Beethoven's syphilis made him.

as far as robert johnson, i think the myth is really cool and all, but everything i heard has had about the sound quality of hostage with his mouth duct taped inside a coffin while being on the ocean floor. i mean with all the technology we have can't this be enhanced a little? maybe phil spector can add a nice wall of sound effect to it. but thanks for the suggestions guys.

Try the new Robert Johnson comp put out as part of the "Martin Scorsese Presents: The Blues" series. We've got it at my store and it sounds dramatically better than other recordings of his I've heard.
