Ahhh finally a holiday that has no religious implications!
I can say HAPPY Thanksgiving to one and all.
Hope you all enjoy...if you are driving then keep it safe...and the best part is...you get to see all of those friends who moved away and come back for the holiday!

I was assuming that Justice was joking, but now that you mention it, I wonder. Anyway, Happy Thanksgiving everybudday!!! I'm getting in my car in a few hours and heading home, and after about a week as I'm getting ready to come back, I'll learn what I'm really thankful for...that I no longer live there.

Well I referring to our MODERN day Thanksgiving...I know all about the history of the Pilgrims and the Puritans of Englans circa 1600's.
How is the Thanksgiving of Today religious in any way?
I know many denominations of Judism, Chrsitianity, Muslim that celebrate today.

P.S. We ARE getting off the beaten path here...Just wanted to wish all a Happy Turkey Day

Oh man, soooo much food. We had an 18 pound turkey for 6 people. That's too much man. And with the side dishes, I ate a small helping of every dish and was too stuffed to go back and get seconds on the best ones.

But it was a good meal and the cherry pie was great.

Hope everyone else had a nice time, and if you're gonna drink, make sure it's a decent beer.

I had a nice time at my aunt's little home. I basically sat in front of the TV... and my grandmother and uncle insisted we watch Jeopardy. The food was good, but nothing compared to what I usually have.

Wow, TWO kinds of turkey, one "normal" and one marinated in balsamic vinegar and basil; TWO kinds of stuffing, one "normal" and one mit sausage; mashed potatoes which were kinda superfluous given the stuffing; green beans almondine and peas

...and then WORK called.

Having read Mike T's post about l-tryptophan (is there a d-tryptophan that DOESN'T have hypnotic effects?) I was wishing that my folks still drank caffeinated coffee so I could've had some before the 90-mile drive. Hell, I'd almost fallen backwards out of my chair twice at the table, stretching. I DID catch myself being less attentive than usual during the drive, and it scared me... so I took a route that I don't usually take to work in order to make it less boring and sleep-inducing.

Point being, there's lotsa people on the road tonight I've noticed, and some of them can be assumed to be in lots worse shape than I was. I got to work OK, fixed the broken shit, and drank two cups of coffee there before going home. But to echo Mike's point (I sure can't amplify it, his experience says it all), watch out for yourselves... I hope and pray you all get where you're going safely.
