Steadily over the past 15 years I've seen an increase of white young adults with Dreadlocks. In the modern world, the pros and cons of ANYONE wearing dreadlocks could be debated but my question to you is this:

In any context, is a white person with dreadlocks acceptable or is it just silly looking?

A lot of your 'white' people no longer have 'white' texted hair (well, lack there of). Because of interracial children, 'white' coloured folk can end up with some pretty good dread worthy hair (as in, it was made to make some nice tight locks).

I always respect properly twisted and maintained dreadlocks. It's a labor of love. Time consuming and expensive. And done right, looks really cool.

I don't think that I have ever seen a white person, male or female, who had dreads that I thought looked good.

This includes my best friend's sister Becca, who had dreads about 10 years ago.

Becca is a beautiful girl and I love her like a little sister.

But when she had dreads, she just looked .... dirty.

When she cut them off the next year, I was thrilled.

I cannot imagine how they are sanitary. How does sweat and dirt not get trapped in that matted mess? I hugged a woman at work that had them and the odor that came off them was stuck in my nose all day.
