At my college this semester they distributed laptops to all full time students. Luckily for us that ITunes came out for Windows and now over the network everyone with ITunes can legally share music with anyone or everyone on campus. How cool is that?!

i'm not too familiar with itunes, but i was led to assume you purchase songs individually for personal use. sharing it over the campus network is the same as me buying a cd, copying it to my hd, and putting it up on kazaa.

iTunes can act like a P2P program? how does that work?

I love iTunes, but still haven't actually purchased a song yet (I tried but couldn't find what I was looking for)

monster - you are thinking of the iTunes Music Store. iTunes is a player that can access the store.

If you go into your preferences, you can share your music library with others on your network. And the other computers will appear in your playlists on the left side. It will not allow you to download, but you can play the music from the other computer.

Of course, cracks and plug-ins have been written to allow downloading and sharing over the internet.

Has anyone tried this "MyTunes" ?

It allows you to download the music from others on your local network.
