OK. I do have a tale to tell. Gather round childrens.

A few years ago, Stolichnaya added another flavored Vodka to their already vast selection of flavored Vodka. This one however...was liquid crack. Stoli Zinamon...like drinking Atomic Fireballs....heavenly. My wife tried it and said..."My God - If I keep drinking this I'll be homeless in a week.". The stuff was awesome.

Then the bottom dropped out of my flavored Vodka world - my local retailer told me that Stoli was discontinuing the flavor. I was crushed. I then proceeded to scour liquor stores and purchase every remaining bottle that they had.

I'm down to my last 2 bottles, one of which is in the freezer.

Where am I going with this? I have found that mixing Apple Cider (the real stuff - not Motts) with Cinammon Vodka creates the perfect fall cocktail. It's apple pie squared. Bliss.

And the sad thing is that I know I can't have them forever. The day will come and the Stoli Zinamon will run out and I will NEVER have another one of these ambrosial aperitifs again.

And that is why this "old dandy" cries. That and because Guinness has yet to send me my free towel.

get ahold of yourself, this isn't the drama club. you could probably get the same effect by infusing the liquor with actual fireballs. crush the balls up enough to fit in the mouth of the bottle and allow to sit for a couple of months. shake every so often and there you go.

this bar i worked at would sell a similar drink in the fall. we would get cidar from a local orchard, keeping it in a double boiler with cinnamon sticks. except we served it with spiced rum.
