I despise pleated pants.
Its getting harder to find pants that arent pleated.
Pleated pants make me look like Im aroused when Im not.
I wish they didnt make pleated pants.
I hope the designer who invented pleated pants falls down a flight of stairs and breaks every tooth in his mouth, except for one, and in that one, I hope he gets a toothache for the rest of his life.
Only some people can pull it off in a pair of pleated pants, and I declare that it is an excedingly small minority of men.

I love my pleated pants.

Just try losing/gaining some weight.

You must have some feelings for pleated pants because you took the time to write about them.

Ive gone through weight extremes, where Ive weighed 240 lbs and went down to 150 and the never looked good on me. They just seem to attract undue attention to my crotch and Ive only rarely seen someone get away with waering them where they look descent (like the guy in the pic I put on top). Moe, I wear black jeans all the time, and I wish they could make a denim suit! But sometimes, I need to wear dress clothes and its just getting harder and harder to find them. I was at the LL Bean site looking for dress pants, because they use to make this great pair. But now, your given 2 pleat options! Front facing and rear facing! What the fuck??!!
Now Im thinking, maybe the non pleated pants are flying out the stores before I get there and the only ones left are the stupid pleated shit. It sickens me.

i like pleated pants. i think non-pleated pants only fit pre-pubescent boys. you might be able to find some non-pleated pants in the women's section. :confuse:

This is what would happen to me if I wore pleats...

If your for pleats, you might be sporting this look and not be aware of it.

i dont look at men's clothes all that often (just occasionally to get something for my boyfriend or my dad), but whenever i have, the stores i've gone to (gap, banana republic, etc) sell both pleated and flat front dress pants.

i generally don't like the pleats, either. i think it's somewhat rare that they fit just right. for example, i went with my boyfriend to get him pants for an interview... he picked out a pair of pleated pants. now, mind you, he's tall and thin, and whenever i've bought him clothes they always look good. the pleated pants looked awful, awful, awful. i was amazed. i think, in general, it's a good idea for both men and women to avoid pleats.

Our new supervision recently enacted a `no jeans in the office' policy at work so I had to go out and buy some new pants a few weeks ago. You have no idea how much time I wasted trying to find a store that sold flat front pants in a color other than khaki.

I kind of find it ironic how most fashion advice says to avoid pleated pants and wear flat front pants to make you look slimmer yet flat front pants are much harder to come by than pleated pants. Regardless of fashion, I just prefer flat front pants in terms of fit and look. Pleated pants remind me too much of genie pants. The only things that should be pleated are skirts.

The best place I've found for flat front pants is Kohl's. The selection is better than most places and the prices are reasonable. Arienette - thanks for the advice. I never usually shop at Gap or Banana Republic (or Old Navy for that matter) but I'll give them a try. Maybe I'll find something I like.

I totally agree with SR71. I've had pleated pants when I've been thin, and when I've been heavier and I just don't look as good or feel right in pleated pants as much as I do with plain front pants. They just fit better, and look better.

I said it already and I'll say it again...if you're fat or skinny, don't wear pleated pants. It's easy. If you're of "average" (ACTUAL average, not nouveau "fat but people say average because we're such a fucking fat society, you fucking fatass") size they look just fine.

And like someone else said, go shop at Kohl's. Great prices and plenty of pleated and non-pleated pants of all types. I never have any trouble finding what I want. If you want the really highbrow stuff you're gonna have to go elsewhere, but Kohl's is great on the fly.

Is it me, or is that guys head WAY too big for his body?

Also, I noticed something about the images I have up here...
The top guys waist is about the same size as one of his upper thigh's! I think that most people dont have that proportion and pleats only look good on you if you do, the rest end up looking like the 2nd guy I have up if you dont.
Also, I see pleats as being folds for allowing extra movement of the upper legs at the hip. Who, in the course of their day, is doing roundhouse kicks while in the office? If I needed that much room for that kind of activity, I think I wouldnt be wearing dress pants!

OK, so I'm a fat fuck. Regardless, pleated pants are still horrid and are the work of the devil.
