Sure he's no Lennon/McCartney, but who doesn't know this theme song.
Winchester, Tennessee-AP -- A musician and songwriter who co-wrote the instrumental "Yakety Sax" has died.
Family members say James Rich -- known as "Spider" -- was 80 years old. He died Sunday in Tennessee.
Rich co-wrote "Yakety Sax" with Boots Randolph. It was number 35 on the pop chart in 1963 -- and later became the theme song for British comedian Benny Hill's T-V show.
In 1965, Chet Atkins reworked the song as "Yakety Axe" -- and it hit number four on the country charts.
Atkins recorded other pieces of Rich's music, including "Hidden Charm," "Siesta" and "Hocus Pocus."
