Did anyone collect these as a kid? I used to look forward to when they came out ever year around Thanksgiving for Christmas. I even remember the lights and the siren sounds they would make. The cool thing about the truck was that they would even include the batteries.

Yep. There weren't many Hess stations in Philadelphia when I was growing up, but when we would visit the Poconos, there were a few up there. My Dad bought me a few, and yea, I liked how the lights worked too.

my favorite one growing up was the one with the sliding doors and the barrels of oil.

I loved the sirens and lights too. It appealed to my primitive brain.

Do you remember the gas station complex?

I had a tanker truck and not only did the lights work, but you could put water in the tank and it would come out through the rubber hose. Wish I had kept it.
