I apologize to Art and his family for the typo in the thread title. I believe he was the last surviving Honeymooner. RIP.

You'll get no credit for breaking this news until you provide the link. Even then, the credit won't be all that much since old people die all the time.

Art too? Well, he had a nice long run here, and he entertained millions, I'm a big fan, what else can I say? He is one of the funniest people on film.

Ever see 'Going In Style' with Art Carney George Burns and Lee Strassberg?
That's, for me, one of those movies that I just always end up watching when it's on. It's hysterical in parts, and will make you weep in others.
And I wonder how many who watch, and only know Strassberg as that 'other guy' acting with Burns and Carney, might discover he was perhaps the single most influential person on actors and actresses that span last century.

I've said it too many times this year. What a tragic year for celebrity deaths. And it's still only November. Rest in Peace Art.
Here is my favorite song written by Ed Norton-
Way down upon the Swanee River,
Far, far away.
That's where my heart is turning ever.
That's where the old folks stay.
All up and down the whole creation,
Sadly I roam,
Still longing for the old plantation,
And for the old folks at home.
All the world is sad and dreary,
Everywhere I roam,
Oh! Lordy, how my heart grows weary,
Far from the old folks at home.
All 'round the little farm I wandered
When I was young,
Then many happy days I squandered,
Many a song I sung.
When I was playing with my brother
Happy was I.
Oh! take me to my kind old mother,
There let me live and die.
All the world is sad and dreary,
Everywhere I roam,
Oh! Lordy, how my heart grows weary,
Far from the old folks at home.
One little hut among the bushes,
One that I love,
Still sadly to my mem'ry rushes,
No matter where I rove.
When will I see the bees a-humming'
All around the comb?
When will I hear the banjo strummin'
Down in my good old home?
All the world is sad and dreary,
Everywhere I roam,
Oh, Lordy, how my heart grows weary,
Far from the old folks at home.

Goodbye to great one.
I worked for a few months on a huge 19th century house one time where the groundskeeper was a dead ringer for Carney as Norton.
The guy not only looked identical to Norton, but he sounded just like him.
It was wild being around him when I was under the influence of the usual smorgasbord of drugs, because this guy was also half crazy...

I believe he was the last surviving Honeymooner.
Actually, Joyce Randolph (Trixie Norton) is still alive.
I love that once Carney peeled an orange for two minutes on an episode of "Honeymooners" (when Gleason missed his cue) and made that entertaining.

If anyone is up there is a Honeymooners marathon saluting Art on TV Land. They are showing the original 39 episodes. Good stuff!
