View Full Version : Zach Gowen might sue WWE

The word going around the Michigan indy scene is that Zach Gowen told some friends that if WWE fires him before his lengthy contract is up, he plans to slap a discrimination suit on them. That's just talk and certainly not confirmed, however.
Gowen is still said to be rubbing people the wrong way backstage, and has a huge ego. Some indy workers that used to perform with Zach used to refer to him as the 'Little Prince'. He's also been known to lash out at wrestlers for not being totally careful with him in the ring, which I guess you can't really blame, but it definitely is not appreciated by other workers, who have to deal with stiff shots all the time.

Does he have a case or is there not enough proof as he only has one leg to stand on?

Bullshit. WWE fires people all the time. They'll just roll out Droz to show they have handicap people on the payroll.

That sounded bad.

You started this thread just so you could get that joke out, didn't you? ;p

WWe's probably realizing too late that there's not much you could do with a one-legged wrestler. I hate to call a person a novelty, but the sad fact is, that's ALL he is. If they used him specifically as a "special attraction" that only wrestled occasionally (much like they did with Andre during the 80's), that would be fine. In all honesty, watching him get flung around like a rag doll and having his opponents cater to his short-comings is getting a bit hard to watch.

On a mission to prove that Teenweek is Trips, and that RFM is a long-lost Jarrett. ;p

I knew someone would say it eventually.

This was a stupid idea to begin with. People should just accept their limitations in life. Wrestling requires 2 arms and 2 legs. It's like a fat person trying to be a ballerina

Could be worse, they could cripple more wrestlers just to have more on the payroll... like Cripple H.

Why in God's name would they sign him to a "lengthy contract" in the first place? I'm almost tempted to say, "Good, Vince should have known he was just going to be used as a human novelty & shouldn't have signed him for a long term deal"...he shouldn't have gotten anything more than a Tough Enough-style, one year deal. But the painful truth is that it would be insanity if Zach was allowed to sue & receive any monetary settlement from the WWE for being fired as a result of a total lack of usefulness.

The list of bad decisions by the WWE grows, day by day...

[color=white]...oh, yeah...it made me giggle, too.[color=white]

Call me a moron, but for a one-legged wrestler he showed more heart, courage, and talent than most of the useless doofs on Smackdown. It would have been nice if they actually put him over in more matches and made his presence legit, but I smelled something fishy when Brock pushed him down the stairs. The WWE needed another freak to their side show, and they found that in Gowen. Too bad the kid actually thought Vince was gonna take him seriously.

I've heard that the worker in question who said this was CM Punk.

If so, it raises my opinion of Punk even higher than it already is.

Legit? Why should they push him as legit? Forgive me, but he's a cripple. One about the size of Michael Cole.

If he was a one-legged guy the size of A-Train, or Big Show, etc., I could halfway understand pushing him as legit.

But being a punching bag is pretty much all he's worth. And even THAT has run thin.

They didn't want TNA getting publicity with a one-legged wrestler, so they snatched him up after he wrestled for them.

Kinda figured that this would happen to Tenacious Z. Go sue 'em Z. Maybe you can beat the WWE... everyone else has failed up to this point.

Yea, but the cripple put on more of a show than the guys in the back with two legs.

Bullshit.

Who does Gowan put on more of a show than? Bradshaw? Nathan Jones? Only the already untalented fucks in the company. Just about everyone else smokes him. He's no better - and in many respects he's worse - than your average indy cruizerweight. All he has working for him is the novelty of his handicap, but at this point that novelty has worn thin. He's exposed.

There's a lot of stuff in the new Torch about Gowan, and if half of it can be believed, he's a pompous ass.
