so i'm having this problem- i've downloaded birth of the prince and bazooka tooth. i've tried to burn the 2 albums and tried to burn both seperately.

here's the problem, normally it takes half an hour to burn a 80 minute cd. now it takes 2 hours to convert the first 3 tracks. a few months back, i read that the riaa was going to do a couple things to curb pirating- one being, making tracks that slow you computer to a pratical hault when downloading. (is this a variation?) anybody having similar problems?

it's probably that you've downloaded so much shit that you've slowed down your computer to a snail's pace.

i actually cleared out 90% of what used to be in my download folder. so that's definitely not it. i figure if they've put some kind of security feature in mp3s, then someone by now has figured out how to strip it out.

I'm pretty sure everything on kazaa has bypassed that riaa thing you were talking about.
Try a defrag, especially after erasing all that shit.

MP3s are ripped and uploaded by people with cds. There's nothing in the mp3 that would cause it to do that, unless it's corrupted, as far as I know.

Try burning something else to see if it's your burner, or try redownloading them.

Perhaps it's the virus you downloaded with the mp3's that is slowing your computer...

yes it's the riaa and mpaa - they've hacked into your pc and are scanning for illegam mp3's and porn - you have to delete everything asap.
