Overall, they really are awesome cars. I've owned two and never had any major problems. Just routine maintenance.
This weekend I went for a new battery. Instead of getting the generic battery, I had to pay big bucks for the "super happy spectacularly" international battery.
And when I need new wiper blades? I have to buy two different sizes. (I think one is 21" and the other is 18".) WHY???
It's wierd-- I never had this problem with my crappy '92 Hyundai Excel. I now have a 2000 Elantra wagon (I know, so hawt!)
Anyone else have Hyundai gripes?

i thought this was a bit strange myself when i recently bought new ones for the Ford...
i never noticed one was bigger than the other until i needed new ones...

I have put 50,000 miles on my Accent over the past year. 5 times now, the Pulse Generator (causes my transmission to get erratic) has gone. never ONCE since I have taken it for maintenence have they been able to tell me what causes the problem. Since it is being fixed for free, I don't really mind but next year when the 100.000 mile warranty is up, I don't know if I want to hold onto the car for much longer after that unless they can fix the problem once and for all.
Besides that, no problems at all. This car has taken me to Montreal twice and all the hell over the place else so I can't really gripe TOO much about it.

Yes, Lamb of God is that good. As the Palces Burn is the metal record of the last 10 years!

I think that if by some weird miracle of physics that I could actually Get into a Hyundai; I think I'd be in a position such that If my ear was itchy I could scratch it with my knee.

I was married to someone who was 6'3" when I owned the Excel.
Yeah, he hated that car!

I'm not sure. The '90s were sort of a blur for me. I thought I was in Mexico but it might have been Jersey for all I know.
If it was me - can you let me know what happened to the dog?

Me too. ;)
And, unfortunatley, the dog died. But the cat is doing well.

as an ex auto parts guy alot of cars have two different size wiper blades one longer to compensate for the area that will be missed. they cant be equally lined up without hitting into each other that is why they are postioned with one long, one short.
