Bad neighbors...

It's 12PM Sunday afternoon, and I'm listening to Duran Duran's "Girls on Film".

I only wish I could say that it was coming from my boom box.

My girlfriend lives in a two-family house. A somewhat white-trashy family moved in downstairs, after a series of students and professionals living there.

When they were moving in, the husband said, "Oh, I want to apologize in advance for the loud music."

I just smiled and nodded, thinking it wasn't going to be that bad.

They are CONSTANTLY blasting music. It annoys the hell out of me, but it really upsets my girl, and she's too non-confrontational to talk to them about it.

I've never had to deal with bad neighbors, outside of that dog biting me a few months ago.

Any suggestions? She can't move out, but she doesn't want to make a tense situation with the neighbors.

Is it better to bring it up to the landlord FIRST, or bring it up with the tenants first, and if there's no resolution, THEN go to the landlord?

Here is what you do ask them if they can turn down there music...If they give a big fuss and dont listen tell the landlord...But try to stay friendly with them.....If the landlord doesnt work and it is real real loud call the cops...

Just ask them to turn it down.I hate when they do shit like that. I have these people up the block that party evert night in the summer. Their music is so loud, they park illegally so its so hard to drive past the house and leave empty bottles of beer all over the street. The cops are called all the time and they still do it all the time. I wish I could tell them to shut the fuck up but they would beat the snot out of me, Bad neighbors suck...

behind me theres a house for "special adults". its a nice concept, but they do weird shit sometimes. one of them swings on one of those rocking seats outside all day and moans. and sometimes its really, really loud. when my sister came over for the first time she kept looking outside to see where the goats were...i had to inform her its just my neighbor...and its not like i can go to one of the aids and ask them to lower down the retard. its mean to think about, but they really do annoy me at times.

I hate my neighbors beyond belief. There's too many reasons to list. So many, that they could warrant their own thread. However...

I noticed today that my mail was for my other neighbor on the other side (who is actually cool), so I went seeking out my own mail by creeping around in the street after dark and checking the other mailboxes to see if my mail was in there. Nope, no dice.

But, while checking the mailbox of neighbor I hate, I noticed his TV Guide.

Oh yeah, I stole it.

Ok, sure, it's not a big deal, but it's gonna really annoy those fucks for about a week.

That's of course providing they're sober enough to even notice.

this technician at my job 'when he was a teenager' rigged something up with a cb radio, wire, and an antenna. the wire connected to a knob on the the inside of the cb radio(i believe he said it was orange) the wire connected to the antenna and when he pointed the antenna in the direction of the home next door that was blasting music and 'turning the knob to it's highest level', he was able to blow their speakers out.

he was also able to transmit his voice through speakers of boomboxes down the street that were playing the radio real loud... he would yell at them to turn it down...

he got in trouble with the government because he lived near an airport and he was interfering with radio signals...

it was kind of a cool story...

I know exactly how you feel....my neighbors downstairs had parties well into 5 am. over the weekends...which is fine and all that once in awhile...but they were doing it every single weekend night.
Until one day I just knocked on the door and very politely asked them to once in a while keep it down when 2-3 am rolls around.
They are good guys (there are three of them downstairs) and they apologized to me. They rarely give me any trouble so I say be very nice about it...just knock on the door when you know the father or head of the family is home (mom, guardian..whatever) and just ask them if they would not mind keeping it down JUST a little and explain to them just how thin the walls are.
If they do not care and keep it up, when they lower their music one night bang the shit outta your girl REALLY hard and make her scream for more....and if they ask you to keep it down...just say sure...and go back to doing it again.
Hey..that's what I would do.
