The dropdown in my browser keeps going blank (maybe every two weeks). Also, I keep getting little squares instead of quote marks. Anyone have a clue? I've run a virus check and it clears but I think something must have become corupt.

No. But I have stuck my balls in the DVD tray.
HA! I like your style! So I'll give you a real answer.
I have no idea. Sorry, but someone on this board HAS to know what that is.
Oh, and what dropdown? That part, you lost me. Your favorites menu? What? The history?

But I always wondered why Mario would put rubber bands on his face and walk around with sweaty men. I think he's gay.

If he's signed on now, FMJEFF might know what to do. He seems to fix everything on this board when it needs fixing.
Good luck.

It's not just this board. It's very random.
That kind of random crap happens to me every couple of years. I'd buy a new computer. And stop looking at porn. Or at least wear a condom.

Not sure if this is anywhere near your problem's core, but do you run Spybot or a similar program that kills Spyware, an updated virus program and defragment regularly?
these 3 things have helped keep me in good condition, even on my old, shitty comp I just got rid of.

The issue of the drop-down menu going blank is usually caused by one of two things (depending upon if you're using Internet Explorer). The first of which is...in the Tools menu under "Internet Options..." there's a "General" tab in the Options window that pops up. Under there is an option called "History" if you click the button that says "Clear History" it will wipe out everything in your history along with the web addresses in your drop down menu. It may also be automatically set to do that as well which could be the problem you're having.
Additionally if you have a utility called Tweak UI, or Norton Systemworks, or anything that optimizes the performance of your system there may be a option that either automatically clears the history after a set period of days, or you're inadvertantly clicking a button in the utility that's clearing it.
As for the little squares you're seeing instead of quote marks I think it's that your encoding may be off. In the "View" menu look for an option that says "Encoding" and see what language your browser is set to. That may be why you're getting those squares.
