Longest You've Went Without Sleep

Now I haven't done it straight through, i've done it with a couple of 3 hour napskis, but I technically have not "gone to sleep" since Tuesday afternoon. I slept from 6:30 AM-6:30 PM that day (I have something similar to mono that keeps me from waking up) and I haven't changed into like pajamas since then. So technically I have not "gone to sleep" for going on 42 hours. I'm sure this is nothing compared to some of the degenerates on the board.

Of course this could've been a thread that I missed, but I have no will to search for it.

I was awake for 36 or 38 hours once. I can't remember why, but I do remember that after I slept for about 18 hours.

well depends on with or without naps

- I've seen the sunrise twice back to back - I think that was about 36-40 hours without any sleep
- right after my son was born, I went a week or so on a couple of hours a night

my record is somewhere around 41 or 42 hours. i was in HS, during the summer break. it screwed me up for days though.

64 hours.

In college, it was a reading days group effort kind of thing. In addition to all the studying, we got drunk, sobered up, and took a final in that time. Then I napped for about 6 hours and stayed up for another 12 or so, taking another final.

Somewhere around 72 hours. That was pure hell, I hope that I never do that again.

I have slept twice for 3 hours each time, but I have also done this without coffee. I'm gonna wind up going at least until 6:30 PM, so it looks like it will be a full 48 hours. Hopefully I'll get my paper done sometime this afternoon between classes so that I can then fall into a 14 hour coma till class tomorrow.

Back in the day, there were many times where I stayed up from Friday morning to Sunday evening, under the influence of the usual smorgasbord of mind altering substances.
I'd roll right on in to work at the truss plant or other construction-type job and whup ass, then go play a few hours of basketball...
I guess my longest was probly about 4 or 5 days.

I have occasionally done the 48 hour no sleeping binge. I've done it at Mardi Gras twice, and quite a few New Years. Various drugs helped at the time, but oh man good times had by all.

2 and a half days. sleep never felt sooooooooo good. sort of like a road trip piss and you've been holding it for the last 40 miles- when you get to go, it's like the world being lifted off your shoulders.

A few years back I took some Ecstasy dosed with something awful that kept me painfully wired from about 7 PM Friday evening until about 11 AM the following Monday. Swore me off of the stuff until I got a testing kit.

We went t the last Woodstock. I was awake form Thursday till Sat. night and only got about 3 hours sleep before hitting the road for a 10 hour drive...

I guess I'm a lightweight. I think my record is only about 30-32 hours. I was driving back from Alabama, and there was some fucking river festival in the Tennesee area when we started to look for a motel. SO I just drove, and drove, and drove. FINALLY got a Super 8 somewhere in like Georgia or Virginia. Not sure because I was so groggy. Slept about 6-8 hours and drove all the way thought to NJ. THAT WAS HELL! But Unhallowed RAWKED Alabama, and we got home in one piece.

I lasted for 43 hours once after an all-nighter for a due paper. I was falling asleep for little narcoleptic stretches of 10 seconds in one of my classes though.

Here's another question. What was the longest you ever slept? I remember sleeping an entire day away once when I had the flu.

to actually answer billyo's question, I just slept 16 hours (2 PM-6 AM). That's the longest I've ever slept. I don't think I should be trusted to live alone.....
