MICHAEL SHANE'S TRIPLE CHANCE X INVITATIONAL BEGINS!
X Champion Michael Shane announced the creation of a "Triple Chance Invitational," which will begin this Wednesday on Pay-Per-View! According to TNA officials, an X Battle Royal will take place this Wednesday, where the winner earns a slot in a final three-way match for the number one contender status. The order of the rest of the tournament will depend on the final competitors in the X Battle Royal!

The current participants are Low Ki, Chris Sabin, The Fallen Angel, Sonjay Dutt, Johnny Storm, Sharkboy, Chad Collyer and a TNA newcomer to be announced today. What an amazing lineup of talent! This should be off the hizzy!

Who do you think will be the "TNA newcomer?" Lyger? TMIV? Homicide?

Or maybe Jeff Hardy? Check this one out...

From Mike Tenay's Ask the Professor column this week:
FROM: ABRAHAM
Do you think we'll see TNA superstars wrestle against WWE superstars? If so, I would like to see A.J. Styles against Jeff Hardy. I'm really impressed with the X Division.

ANSWER: In most cases, exclusive contracts would prevent TNA stars from wrestling WWE talent. Don't miss the X Division battle royal this week.

...

What is Mike Tenay alluding to? Could Jeff Hardy be the TNA newcomer? Makes ya think. doesn't it?

Stay tuned this week for the start of TNA'S Triple Chance X Invitational! I'll keep you posted as this story and tournament unfolds!

Ahhhh... American Dragon... TNA has been trying to get him for at least a dark/Xplosion match but they could never work out a deal. Both solid choices.

Eric, I know you are just having fun but it specifically said, "newcomer." Syxx-Pac has been on TNA numerous times.

Signs continue to point to Jeff Hardy... and I am almost 100% sure i is him, depending on travel and other contractual snags.

The mystery opponent was unfortunately not Jeff Hardy (from all my accounts) but turned out to be someone named "X." A big bulky guy that I finally figured out to be a repackaged and more physically fit Pierre Carl Oulette who has worked prior with Callis in the CWA and of course part of WWF's Quebeccers. He did tremendous in the X-Division Battle Royal and came out on top with some impressive power moves and something that Tenay called "The Package Driver." [That very move "X" used was developed by Kevin Steen, a Montreal wrestler trained by Jacques Rougeau.] Impressive. Since he won he gets a BYE to the #1 Contendership for the X-Division Title in a few weeks.

Meaning that next week will have:

Seed 5: Chad Collyer (who didn't show much but is solid in the ring) vs. Seed 2: Chris Sabin
Seed 3: Fallen Angel vs. Seed 4: Low Ki

The Battle Royal overall was fun to watch with alot of high spots. I want to see Dutt vs. Storm down the line. That would be some fun ROH-type action. Also Daniels and Low Ki seemed to turned on each other. Low Ki even said that Triple X is dead and made it real personal. This is going to be a great match and hopefully a huge TNA fued for weeks to come.

Low Ki/Daniels is always an amazing match...their matches in the first year of RoH are really really good. With proper buildup this could be one of the best TNA feuds this year!

Low Ki and Daniels are main event caliber wrestlers... great move WWE by snubbing these two.

TNA E-Mail Exclusive:

The Fallen Angel e-mails you about his match against Low Ki

To all of my Internet minions,

This Wednesday night, I, Christopher Daniels, step into the ring against someone who was like a brother to me. He is a man who has been both my partner and my rival. Everyone is talking about The Fallen Angel versus Low Ki. Everyone wants to know what is going to happen when two former members of Triple X collide to see who is worthy to fight for the X Division Title.

Needless to say, The Fallen Angel and Low Ki will tear down the house. This will not be an easy night. This match will be brutal. Low Ki is an incredibly tough competitor and someone who holds nothing back in the ring. To those who say that wrestling is anything but real - step in the ring with Low Ki and see how you feel taking one of his kicks. This is why I chose him as a tag-team partner in Triple X. One should only surround themselves with the best.

You know, Low Ki always talks about it being not the size of the fighter, but size of the fight he will bring. I agree, to a certain extent - but Low Ki, there is only one way that you will leave our match tomorrow without being eliminated from the Triple Chance Tournament...

Say your prayers. Lots of them. And hope that when I beat you, your chance to be the #1 Contender to the X Title is the ONLY thing I take. Maybe, just maybe, I'll leave you with your soul - if you're lucky.

Signed, your old friend
Christopher Daniels

From TNA's Bob Ryder:

Other matches include two second round matches in the X Division Triple Chance Tournament. Former partners Christopher Daniels and Low Ki face off in one match up and the other match is scheduled between Sonjay Dutt and Chad Collyer. Chris Sabin had been scheduled to compete in the match against Collyer, but suffered an injury last week at the hands of "X".

...

Sonjay Dutt takes over for Sabin? This could only be good. Take care Chris.

Okay let's see Low Ki and Daniels went first and thoroughly impressed. They did all their trademark moves and variations to the huge ovation from the Asylum. Daniels won and after the brutal match they both shook hands to a pop. As Low Ki left the ring "X" the huge monster that won the X Battle Royal to advance to the X #1 Contenders finals came out and used his devastating finisher the "X-ecution" Package Piledriver. Looked a little sloppy but Daniels seemed allright after the move. Low Ki watched on the rampway as this happened and didn't stop it. Hmmm... a Daniels-Low Ki feud maybe in the early works! Good move TNA, I love dissention! Interesting note, during this very match Don West said that Dutt vs. X coming up next but Tenay quickly mentioned that he got it wrong and it is in fact Dutt vs. Collyer. Hmmm... could this be what was supposed to happen just like that infamous Michael Cole-WM "New Champion" flub? Hmmm... maybe, maybe not.

Collyer, the Dean Malenko trained mat wrestler vs. Sonjay Dutt for an injured Chris Sabin was the other second round matchup in this tournament. Tracy was watching on a cellphone and clipboard both X matches making s think she was scouting for Franchise's "New Franchise". Tremendous clashing of styles but they preformed solidly for being a last minute change. Collyer did a lot of submission variations and pretty much grounded the X-flyer Dutt. Collyer even locked on the Texas Clover leaf but Dutt reached and got the rope to break the move. They both did their trademark moves but Dutt came out on top. After the match, again "X" came out and destroyed his other competition next week Dutt by doing an impressive gorilla press then catch in mid-air to a slam on the rampway. "X" is defiinitely making a name for himself. Good job Carl.

So it's going to be Daniels vs. Dutt vs. "X" for the Number one Contendership of Shane's X Title? I like this... Daniels, complete wrestler, Dutt, Amazing Red-esque flyer and X the powerhouse that David Young was in the X Division earlier in TNA. Should be awesome!

Tune in next week TNA fans.

Amazing 3 Way match. Dutt pinned X to a stunned Fallen Angel.

So it will be Sonjay Dutt vs. Michael Shane next week for the X Division Title. I smell a new champion or if they decide to go forward with Shane joining the New Franchise then another screwjob.

Don't do it Franchise... take Kazarian or Sabin or Kash instead!

Shane isn't working as champ.

Dutt wouldn't be a bad choice, but I think that Sabin will have it again before too long.

Shane isn't working as champ. That is why it will be benefitial for TNA to let him lose it to Dutt but like I said if they do make Shane regain his X-Title this week it will be thanks to the New Franchise.

Should be interesting to say the least.

Michael Shane retains the title against the upstart Dutt thanks to a chain and... the New Franchise.... nooooooo!

Still the champion? Well this is a smart move for Michael Shane cuz he stinks but Franchise could have done better.
