Opie Siting - 11/2/03

Okay, so I'm home in NYC for the weekend, and I figured I might as well spend most of it in Manhattan. Earlier today, I was on my way to Penn Station to catch a 5 PM Amtrak back to BeanTown, but it was only about 3 PM and I had some time to burn, so why not check out the big Marathon, right? So as I'm waiting for this cop to open up the gate and let me into the W. 64th St. entrance to the park, guess who's stepping out of the park? Yep, if the topic title didn't give it away: It was good 'ol Opie. I just decided to give him a nice, "Yeah Opie!", and leave him be. He turned around, flashed a peace sign, and said something to the effect of, "What's up bro!" I noticed he was with somebody (possibly his chick?) so I didn't wanna stop him and bore-ass him to death. It was pretty cool to see the guy at a non-radio-related event.

Oh, and for anyone who was wondering, no, his hair's not long anymore... And oh yeah, as one of his CLOSE "PALS", I would know personally that when he said, "What's up bro.", he meant, "Anthony had a heart attack and we'll be on XM Radio next summer." You can QUOTE me on that. ::wink wink, nudge nudge::
