I need to catch up on my batching

Damn, I was so irritable at work today, it was unbelievable, and I know why:

(a.) lack of sleep, and

(b.) lack of batching.

A lack of both is a recipe for disaster.

I'm having a sleep problem. I batch like 4 times a day at this point so there's no "lack of batching" problem. I have mono, so when I do go to sleep I don't wake up in time for classes. So the past few days I have either not gone to sleep, or gone to sleep after class. So I've been having like 5 PM-11AM days. I'm a bat.

I don't know. Do you remember that Seinfeld episode, the one where they had a contest to see who was the master of his or her domain? And the longer each one went without batching, the more irritable they became.

Fortunately I took action, and it paid off. I had a situation today with a real pain in the ass lawyer who needed some urgent financial information. The girl who is responsible for this case was being a total invalid, so I had to step in. I usually don't like to to talk financial details over the phone, because it gets confusing. I like to take my time, review the invoices, and respond in writing. But that was not an option today.

Long story short, if I hadn't bathched this morning, I don't think I could have handled the situation. I would have been all stressed out and unable to focus.

So the moral of the story is that batching is good for business. Perhaps President Bush should emphasize the importance of batching to our national economy.
