I heard about this this morning, the Caps sent Steve Konowalchuk(and a pick) to the Avalanche for Bates Battaglia and Jonas Johansson...
Battaglia is decent, but really mediocre, and this guy Johansson is supposed to be really good, but in like 3 years. Trades like this really work out in the short run, like when the Caps got Tocchet, Ranford and Oates from Boston, that helped em get to the Cup Finals, but what we gave up(Allison, Carter) really hurt us in the future. I just hope this guy Johansson is good. But even tho i hate having to see Kono play for the Avs, the caps get younger and cheaper and faster, so maybe this'll be a good spark to get our team off the schnide...
That and not taking huge early season road trips against some of the league's best teams...
