What's up with the silver streak?

Every once in a while I'll notice some old old person who clearly has white hair, but they try to act young by dying their hair pitch black, it looks like they have motor oil in their hair. Of this group of old codgers who do this you'll see that one woman or guy who has that white skunk silver streak running down the middle of their head, or even that patch of grey that they don't bother to fix.

I forget that country singer who has bright red hair and this silver streak going through it. It's like a living Bride of Frankenstein or Cruella Deville look they got going or something. I don't get it though.

Remember those Grecian Formula commercials? You put it in your hair day after day and it gradually takes out the gray.

(She uses Grecian Formula For Women and He doesn't even know it!)

They did a great parody of it on The Mary Tyler Moore Show.
This particular episode took place over several days.

The first day, Ted Baxter comes in with a dark gray streak down the middle of his head.

The second day, the top is jet black and the sides are a medium gray, with white around the ears.

The Third day, his hair is jet black all over.



Fuckin' hilarious.
I can't even remember what the rest of the show was about.
