my brother-in-law who happens to be one of the nicest people with the biggest hearts got attacked by a pitbull two days ago... he was doing a favor for one of his employees and had to go to the employees home. he had to pass the frontyard of the neighbors home where the pit bull was and had just rang the bell at the employees home when he turned and the dog began to attack him.
i just got off the phone with him and he said the dog was going after two areas, his groin and his face. he got bit near the eye where he had to receive 5 stitches and he got bit in the stomach and arm. My brother-in-law is a teacher and high degree blackbelt in Tae-Kwan-Do and it looks like his training saved him. He managed to kick the dog and the dog immediately no longer wanted any part of him.
He is upset at himself for being 'suprised' by the dog and not reacting quicker. he said the dog was lightning quick. He also said he was 'glad' it was him that got attacked and not some child or someone who had no defense. He realized this type of dog can actually kill a person.

i myself try to keep an open mind to some of the pitbull owners i've known who state it is 'how the dog is raised' but i am still convinced that these dogs should not be allowed to be pets. They are always fine until there is one mistake, then someone is scarred for life sometimes both physically and mentally.

pitbulls are a huge responsibility/ liability. they require attention at all times, more so when they are young. but just like a child, it is how the dog is raised- they are just a lot more capable of doing damage.

sucks about your beother-in-law. i hope for a quick recovery for him.

you see, the kids, they listen to the rap music, which gives them the brain damage. with the hippin' and the hoppin' and the bippin' and the boppin'.

I'm glad he wasn't more seriously injured. Thank God for the training he had.

Was the dog put down?

i do feel bad for your Brother in law....but I have been a major advocate for it is not the dog but the owner. If the owner was good he would make the dog more affectionate instead of attack oriented.
One attack the the dog should be put down, case closed. was this Dog owned by the employee or was itthe NEIGHTBOR of the employee? It was not clear in the story. But he was right...and I am glad no kids were hurt or killed.
But most of the time it is because the dog was not raised right and the agression was allowed by the owner. he should have been warned about the dog before he got to the house.

it was the neighbors dog. to be honest with you guys I really don't know much more regarding the dog or the owner or how my brother-in-law will pursue anything further. when i called my sister-in-law was changing his bandages and i didn't ask many questions, i just told him i loved him, made sure he was recovering, and wished him the best. i'm sure i'll learn more as the days go on and after he's healed up.

Much Thanks! for your Well Wishes!

He is my wife's brother and is the kind of person that calls my Dad, Dad, and always tells me that I am his brother. If you came to him in need he will always find a way to help you out, and always has. he's a special person.
