This complete and utter blasphemy should result in the blood of the heathens.
Babe Ruth jersey cut up and inserted into baseball cards (http://espn.go.com/sportsbusiness/news/2003/1020/1642358.html)

"What's next? Cut up a Revolutionary War uniform of George Washington for Donruss' 2004 Great Presidents series? Maybe pieces of an original Declaration of Independence? "
That would rock! I'd so get those series!
But, yeah I agree on the Ruth jersey, it's bullshit and all in the name of the mighty dollar.

Next they'll be putting Ted William's head into a bowling ball and selling it at the low, low price of $1000.00
Comes with leather bowling bag. OOOOOOOOOOO...
AAAAAHHHHHHHH...
In all seriousness, this is a load of crap. What's the point of having something that once WAS the jersey but now is just a piece of it? People are dumb.

As we all learned Thursday night, Mr. Ruth is more than capable of extracting revenge himself.

What a bunch of corporate pricks. Someday they'll be putting Gary Carter's hair in Cheerios and attempting to market it.

an original Declaration of Independence
ok........i may have missed a history lesson or two but I didn't think that somehow Elbridge Gerry or someone else also wrote a copy.

Cooperstown still has his jersey and the Babe Ruth Museum has a jersey.
What was the big deal? They bought a jersey and did what they wanted with it. Would it be better if some guy just left it in his basement?

I saw a comercial last night where they were advertising Shaq's jersey was cut up and put into cards.
And Bam, it's a piece of American history. He's considered one of, if not the, greatest to ever play the game. They didn't mass produce everything back then like they do now, so it actually is a piece of history.
