Does anyone know if there is a way to take text that is typed out in uppercase and convert it to lowercase in Microsoft Word or any other program? I work with files in a database that retrieves notes entered on one of my companies intranet pages and some of the people who make entries do it through our mainframe which types all the text out UPPERCASE. I then have to retype what they wrote in lowercase for various reports I have to hand in. Is there any want to automatically convert text from uppcase to lowercase? I know in Word you can take lowercase text and convert it to uppercase, but I don't see a way to do it the other way around.

You didn't say what program you are using, but in Word, click "Change Case" in the Format menu to change to Sentence case., lowercase, UPPERCASE, Title Case or tOGGLE cASE

use a program, or use excel:

@lower(a1)

then cut and paste the result - you can do hundreds of them in 1 column in excel

That was easy, thanks Jon. Yeah I'm using Microsoft Word (Office 2000). Can't believe after all these years of using the program I didn't notice that option.

Thanks again.

That's cuz i need them both. Its my form of perfect balance. A small dose of the uppers and a small dose of the downers keeps me stable-r. But next time i'll bring extra and share them with Alkey I guess.
