I mean seriously, is there any reason that any man who calls himself a man should know this? For the uninformed, thread count is a measure of quality of fabric usually used to judge sheets, comforters, pillowcases, etc. It actually measures the number of threads per inch in the cloth. The higher the thread count, the softer and more comfortable the fabric. It's not really an accurate representation, more a rule of thumb, kind of like judging a PC by the speed of its CPU, but I digress.

My point is, I'm having trouble rectifying this little nugget of info with my masculinity. The whole thread count thing coupled with my purchasing the new Justin Timberlake CD over the weekend, and I think I may have to turn in my membership card to the He-Man Woman Haters Club.

Is there anyone out there who can help me? Does anyone have a crash course, 24 hour boot camp to re-affirm my masculinity? Perhaps someone could IM me and we could discuss football, or cars, or hunting, or maybe the best directions to get from the Somerville Circle to Yankee Stadium or something.

Thread count is one thing, any guy who is married and actually spent anytime with the wife while she decoratored the house (specifically the bed you share with her) has probably come into contact with "Thread Count" and you're no less a man for just remembering something you've heard or read.
