i love that "newlyweds - jessica and nick" show

it's true. it's a great, great show. i could watch it for hours on end (and did, last night). it's just all kinds of entertaining. jessica's really hot and dumb, and nick has a cute smile and looks like he's about to strangle her at least once an episode. maybe i should be ashamed.. but i'm just not. bravo.

It appears I'm the only person who doesn't believe she's that stupid. I'm not saying she's intelligent, but 1) Check out the looks he gives her when she says something completely inane. They're looks of disbelief. You think he's been with her for 4 or 5 years and isn't yet completely aware of how stupid she is? I think it's scripted. 2) She can be really funny sometimes. No, not just "laugh at her" funny, but actually sarcastic and it makes me laugh. I don't think a person as retarded as most believe she is could pull off sarcasm. 3) If she wasn't "stupid" on the show, what would be the point of watching? It would just be two beautiful rich people. Who the hell wants to watch that? There'd be no schtick. I think she's ditzy, but I'm not buying anything more than that.

I don't think she's stupid as in "incapable of learning stupid". I think the fact that she was homeschooled is reflected in her limited vocabulary ("rigomortis? what's that" and the EXCESSIVE use of the word "cute" to describe things"), and she's completely out of touch with anything mundane or domestic.

He seems a lot more down to earth then her, and when he stares at her incredulously, I think it's genuine, because they may have been together 4 or 5 years, but they spend a lot of time apart, and living with someone is completely different from dating them.

I just hope she doesn't suck in bed, because I really feel that the whole virgin til marriage thing played an important part in his decision to marry her.

I thought the same thing. I think if I'm either Jessica, her dad or even Nick, I'd find it uncomfortable and embarrassing to have him there. Then I remembered hearing once that her father was some sort of preacher. I guess he's just so happy to have raised a daughter that saved herself for marriage, he doesn't give a shit what she does now.
