View Full Version : Ever Trace A Prank Caller?

we've recently gotten a handful of prank phonecalls where the caller id shows the number as 'blocked'. i'm suspecting the kids next door so i went on the net and found an AT&T "Call Trace" procedure where you immediately hangup on the caller, wait 10 seconds and press *57 and follow the prompts to run a trace.
the calls are 'no biggie', just some babbling or silence, i just liked to know who it may be for sure.
has anyone ever tried this "call trace" and i was wondering what the results were?
Thanks!

its far too difficult trying to get them to hold still, and even if you could...on something that bumpy im sure that crappy paper would keep ripping.

Yeah I had that call trace blocking thing when I started my own telemarketing business, if you remember I tried to sell telephones, but everyone we called didn;t really seem to be needing one...
anywho...
while I have 2 students and 1 teacher that have classified as stalkers; none of them were caller - uppers. Sadly, after caller-ID was introduced, the fine art of harassing phone calls is gone.
Well, ya got Crank-Yankers, that can be funny, but I mean the good old days of politely calling and asking the man at the bowling alley if he had 8 pound balls.

you see, the kids, they listen to the rap music, which gives them the brain damage. with the hippin' and the hoppin' and the bippin' and the boppin'.

I don't get prank calls, but apparently my cell phone is one digit off from some local AC/heat/plumbing/home repair service, so if I'm in a foul enough mood I'll mess with people trying to get their AC unit fixed.
