Well then we should definately get one going. I run a poker club in the dc area so I could totally provide cards, chips, felt, dealers and traing for anyone who didn't know how to play. I think it would be a blast.

If they are amenable to the idea, RF.Net would be willing to help you any way we can.

I don't know how to play poker. It's like Uno, right? I wish you were setting up an Uno tournement. Is poker like Uno? Did they name a full house after that show with Dave Coolier and Jesse Stamos? DId you know that that guy goes out with Rebecca DeMornay? Does she like Uno?

Yes, poker is exactly like uno. except the cards are more subued in color. And the card hand "Full House" was actually named for the TV show by English Prophets who fortolled the comming of two really hot twin sisters with a full house up top.
And since poker is like UNO, and your great at uno, come play poker at my house and be sure to bring all your money

I would love to play I would have to see if I could get off work on that night. Let me know. I am definitely interested.
Has anyone else played online www.partypoker.com (http://)
We start a game in a private room one night just for starters.
If we had a tournament what games would we play? Texas holdem, 5 card draw, 7 card stud, or would people want to play other games and include wild cards. Just asking a question and we probably would not be able to play for money unless the station could get a sponsor to put up some cash. Maybe the mortgage company could put up a couple of hundred for the tourney. We could play in one of the conference rooms at the station and the boys could come up do a remote from up there like the junkies used to do.

Glad to see the party poker idea was started already by Sticky, not me (as you found out). But I do play there and the tournaments they do now are great. We should go on some night and try to establish a room of R/F peeps. My name there is Spoon9, or some other number i forget. I've done well too, winning 9 of 13 tournaments entered so far. I'm in for any poker, who here is the true "dead money"??

I'm up for the online poker thingy as well as going down with someone, trading a place to stay for the ride (as well as some gas money, etc.)
Edit: I mean that the person giving me the ride would enjoy free room and board at my parents' residence down in Maryland.
And no, there are no sexual innuendos in this post.

Deadmoney runs poker tourneys in the DC area and he has a whole crew who will handle the cards, felts, chips, and dealers.

Don't mean to rain on your parade Dr. Evil, but no way are 40 Ron and Fez fans able to come up with 1 thousand dollars in less than two weeks just before the holidays.
A $100-$200 buy in with the same about of people would still give you a good 4K-8K pot and be more inclusive. Anyone with half a brain that doesn't know how to play Texas hold 'em shouldn't try to learn within a week or so to put up 1K of their money.
Guaranteed, you keep the buy in that high, and this won't be an R & F event, it will just be a regular Poker Tourney with two really cool MC's at the healm.
I'm definately not wasting my time or money to attend if it stays at 1K.

Each player will start with a $1K in chips. You are not allowed to gamble for money in Dave and Busters it is just for fun. There will be different prizes for the people with the most amount of chips. I think they are also thinking about having a regular caller such as myself, cheeseface, Irish Alkey and others to sit at each table. If the other players knock us out of the game that person may win a small prize. (not written in stone yet)
It should be a great time.

I have only been to this Dave and busters once, but at the one in Philly they used to have a mock Casino inside. For 20 bucks you buy like $2,000.00 in phoney chips. The contests were for the people who made the most money with the phoney chips. I am willing to bet this is the same thing. You put in like 10 buck, they give you 1000.00 in chips and you have at it.
at least that is what I remember about the pricing. They took away the casino in the Philly D and B's years ago to expand the pool hall.
P.S. count me in as well, I think i should be able to get out of work! And my girlfriend wants to take me to Baltimore for a weekend, why not that weekend!

Remember if you do sign up and are chosen to play make sure you get there early. We are on a time schedule and things need to be done before the show starts. So we need everyone to get there early so you spot is not given to anyone else. Check in time for the poker tourney ENDS AT 6:30 PM if you are not there by then you may lose your spot.

Two Cards will be dealt face down to each player, the first round of betting commences, Three community cards will be dealt on the table face up, The next round of betting commences, one community card is dealt face up, The next round of betting commences, one final community card is dealt face up, and one final round of betting commences. Rank of Hands (from lowest to highest): High Card, One Pair, Two Pair, Three of a Kind, Straight (5 cards in consecutive ranking order), Flush (5 cards of the same suit), 4 of a Kind, Straight Flush (5 cards in consecutive ranking order and of the same suit), Royal Flush (Straight Flush consisting of 10, J, Q, K, A)
2. ANTE: There will be no Ante for the RFBAPC
3. BLINDS: The two players to the left of the dealer will have mandatory bets (blinds). The player directly to the left of the dealer will pay the small blind and the person 2 seats to the left of the dealer will pay the big blind, which is twice the small blind. All blinds will be regulated by the RFBAPC and will raise incrementally throughout the tournament. A blind table will be made available.
4. DEALER: Each table will have a live permanent dealer who is not involved in game play. To mark the dealers position on the table for blind purposes, a "Dead Dealer Button" will move clockwise around the table after each hand.

For the last two rounds of betting the minimum bet will be equal to twice that of the highest blind for that hand. All raises must be at least the incremental size of the bet that is being raised.

SIDE BETS: If a player goes "All In" he is only in action for an equal amount of chips as he has gone "All in" with. All additional chips, and all additional rounds of betting for that hand will be placed in a side pot. The side pot will be treated as a separate hand with the low "all in" player not being counted in that hand.
SPLIT POTS: In the event of a tied hand. The pot will be divided equally among the tied players. In the event that there is an odd number of chips to be divided the extra chip will be given to the player closest to the left of the dealer button.
6. INITIAL STAKE: All entrants will be initially given the same chip count to begin play. There will be no re-uping of chips. If a player is out of chips, that player is out of the tournament.

Any idea what how the blinds will go? 20? 50? 100?

The blinds will increase every 15 minutes. That way people will be forced to play or be eliminated.
I have seen the blind schedule, and once I find it I will post it.

I will be sandwiched firmly between alkey, adf and hairy elvis to ensure that no sodomy laws in New Jersey, Pennsylvania or Maryland are broken en route.

As much as I was looking forward to being there on Friday, I have some personal issues on the homefront that prevent me from planning anything out of the tri-state area. Y'all have fun and take lots of pics.

Well the welcome letters for the contestants will be going out in the next day or so. Good luck to all of you who have applied to play.
If you did not go to Dave and Busters last time you missed a great time. I hope we can have an even better turn out this time.
Hope to see everyone there.

You said that you run a poker club in the DC area. How would I get information on this club?
Thanks,
Jamie

Well the welcome letters should be going out today and we have some board members playing in the tourney.
Silera, ADF, Alkie, Lazlo, and myself will be bounty players. If someone knocks us out that person will win something from Deadmoneypoker.com.
I hope everyone comes out and enjoys the show.

Don't be sorry. I should be sorry for buying that last one you had. The good thing is you turned me onto Patrone and you did last a pretty long time.
