Let me think here, what is the percentage of US born players currently in the league?
How many people risk their lives floating on rafts to play in Cuba or Columbia on their national teams?
How many top stars leave MLB to play in Japan?

Bottom line IS that MLB does have the best players from around the world! They play here bc the league is well established and gives the player the best chance to earn the most money. Hence it is the "World Series" just not broken down by country, but by where the team plays and calls it's home. For Christ sake, stop fucking bashing the US and our "egotistically myopic view of the world" and take a look to realize that anyone is usually welcome if the talent is there. However, soccer still and will always suck!

the Yankees do have players from about a dozen countries so I guess it's appropriate.
