You gotta be glad that lint filter's there... Otherwise, where would all that nasty lint go. I certainly hope it wouldn't mix in with your freshly washed clothes... I guess we'll never really know, 'cuz as long as that lint filter's there, we're A-OK. Thanks Guy Who Invented The Lint Filter.

I like that the lint isn't on my clothes, but it pisses me off cause I know that the lint is just my clothes wearing out.

But overall I am grateful for the lint trap.

Yeah, seriously man... I think I started a thread about a year ago about how the douchebags in my dorm refuse to empty their lint. So I just went into PhotoShop and made this:
<IMG SRC="http://homepage.mac.com/fatherhawk/.Pictures/rattlint.jpg">
I stuck it on the dryers, and days later... lint traps so clean you could eat off 'em. ...okay, no, but still.

My dryer has an awful lint filter that's on the top of the unit and when you pull it out it gets lint all over the place. My landlord is a douche.

I prefer my lint unfiltered so I get all the smooth, mellow linty flavor.

I certainly hope it wouldn't mix in with your freshly washed clothes

The lint wouldn't go back into your clothes; it's not like the lint filter is filtering outr lint that's coming from the outside world into your dryer! Now is it a magical lint attracting magnet that draws lint off clothes on its own.

It would get sucked out the exhaust tube and spewed out wherever your exhaust is sucked out. I once lived in a house that had a dryer in the middle of the basement, with no exhaust whatsoever. The entire basement had a layer of lint an inch thick on it when I moved in.

Fire Hazard, anyone?

Can't they make lint go out the exhaust? (Well I guess that would make a mess)

How about hooking up to the outgoing water line of the washer? so the link gets flushed out?

Monterone & JustJon - I wasn't high. I just felt like the inventor of the lint filter should be acknowledged for his accomplishments every now and then. That, plus me and a couple friends stole every lint filter in the building and threw them out.

TooCute - I know the lint comes from the clothing. I was saying, if the dryer pulls the lint out of the clothes, and has no filter to pick it up, would the lint go back onto the clothing. Also, I like hamburgers.

Think about where the lint filter is and which side of the lint filter the lint collects on. Think about where the dryer's exhaust is, and what is coming out of the exhaust. Think about it where the clothes in your dryer are compared to the lint filter. Think about it.

Fire Hazard, anyone?

Beaten to the punch by Too Cute again! Curses!

It's, of course, an Enormous Fire Hazard. I get that Consumer Reports Magazine, ok, Mom get's it and I grab it, but an issue had some pretty serious numbers on the fires started because of clothes dryers and lint being so flammable.

Under just the right conditions, and it's rare, but I did this in class [and will on-air soon], simple air with lint in it can be induced to explode.

Exactly like the Grain Silos do, every once in a while, a spark from seemingly nowhere, and boom. In the case of Grain Silos? Enormous, Window shattering, the silos in now spread over five acres-type explosion.

You can blow the lid of a 10-Gallon Paint Can a good 30 feet in the air using just air with the right kind of fine particles in it, and it can be lint, and a spark.

check out some of these (http://www.improvementscatalog.com/product.asp?product=224551zz&dept%5Fid=0&subdept%5Fid=11400) products for cleaning the lint trap and the exhaust tube that vents the heat and dust and gasses out from your dryer.

Bud Light presents, Real American Heroes!

Real American Heroes!

Today we salute you, Mister Lint Filter Inventor...

Mister Lint Filter Inve-eh-entor!!!

You keep our basements clean of lint, and free of firetraps

Watch where you're flicking that ash now...

Only You foresaw the danger of exposed lint and simple air, and said, "Hey, I'm gonna do something about that"

Keep it in the dryer now...

One wrong move, and we're on the fast train to spontaneous combustion

spark, spark, spark it up!

Is that from the blue jeans? Or the three year old underwear? Who cares?... As long as it's caught in the trap, and not polluting our air...

keep on keepin' on!

So crack open an ice cold Bud Light, Mister..... and know, that it's no accident that the Lint, always seems to come out of the dryer looking Red, White, and Blue!

Mister Lint Filter Inve-eh-entor!!!

Thanks for the sigpic CZM... while it lasted. Come back soon Oz
