It's true, it's true. Especially guacamole....that's the best.

I used to be a really picky eater and refused to even try them until junior high. I didn't hate it but I didn't love it, but somewhere along the way I've even started to have cravings for them.

I just went out and got mexican food and fresh guac for lunch and it was delicious, but I don't have many recipies using avacados, so share some if you got em. I remember this one episode of Iron Chef he made this avacado soup, it looked soooo good. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Guacamole rocks.

I used to make a bastardized version of it by mashing ripe avocado and mixing it with some spicy salsa (and a little lemon juice to keep it from turning brown).

I could go for some guac and lime-chili tortilla chips. Or Garden of Eatin's Red Hot Blues.

this may be because i hate almost all mexican food, but avacados are nasty. the only thing i think nastier than eating an avacado is eating guacaamole.

not a fan either. odd flavor and texture. there are way better things on the Mexican menu thank you.

as for haggis - never had it but watched a friend try some while in Scotland - disgusting - drank a lot of beer instead.

Another reason to envy you Aggie. I can't get a good avacado on this coast. I found a place that had turkey and avacado sandwiches and the avacado came out of a squirt bottle. Disgraceful.

I can make a mean f'n Guacamole.....It's a secret...so I cannot tell you whats in it...cause' then I would have to kill you......all.
It's really really good...at my old job the girls in the office would harass me to bring it in during a party, that and my "Special Spinach Dip"...... :)

and you don't have to like mexican food to like avocados you can have them in all kinds of other things. avocados are wonderful in salads. and in sandwiches. and everything else in the world.

I keep guacamole in my freezer and use it as I need it. It freezes really well and that way I don't really have to wait around for avocados to ripen.

I just saw something today at my work cafeteria that made me think of this thread.

One of the specials was a grilled chicken sandwhich with guacamole sauce.

The line was 20 people deep - all women.

I never knew this was such a treat for the ladies.
