Just finished watching WWE Smackdown and was this really true? I saw it last night and I couldn't tell if it was actually sewage that flowed out of Eddy's hose in that truck onto an embarrassed and disgusted Big Show or murky looking water? They kept cutting to the crowd and they appeared to be making that sign that it stunk around that area and holding their collective noses. Anyone know?

Heck, I found it really funny though... disgusted but I liked it.

That truck should be the next installment of a WWE video game. Heck we had the milk truck, HA!

i didn't see Smackdown, unfortunately. But with the constant cuts to the audience it sounds so staged, probably murky water, because to use real sewage would lead to diseases and parasites upon the recipient of the hose down.

but thats just my idea, i am probably wrong

Obviously, that wasn't REAL raw sewage that they used last night. The WWE would have been exposing Big Show, Eddie & Chavo (not to mention a good portion of their audience) to all sorts of diseases had it been the real stuff.

I watched the segment, and it just depressed me. The entire show depressed me even more than RAW did, which is saying something.

I'll post Scott Keith's take on this, as I feel in this instance it's very apropos:

Chavo Guerrero v. Big Show. What a main event. This is impromptu, as Chavo calls out Show, but he's too blown up from his 90 second squash of Jordan and all dressed up and stuff. Chavo uses the old Chicken Challenge to get Show in the ring, and he immediately bails and takes the countout loss. No match. However, it's all a setup, as Eddie brings a septic truck to ringside and (literally) shoots the shit with Big Show, as Eddie stands on the truck and tells him that he's going to shoot sewage at him, and Show just stands there, instead of the alternative, ie, moving. Finally, after Eddie waves the hose around, he starts to leave, but Chavo trips him up by the entrance and Eddie sprays him. Tazz & Cole treat this like a comedy classic or something. I guess this is their way of elevating Eddie, by repeating a tired angle from a time when they were making money. In the end, booking a guy smartly and making him look like a star will elevate him, not what you spray out of a hose.

The Bottom Line:

Well, the final angle was kind of a metaphor for the direction of the company as of late, as they spray shit in every direction until something sticks. This was more like RAW, in the worst sense, as all the matches were short and bad and they built to a silly angle as the main event. In fact, this was pretty much the worst Smackdown I can remember seeing in a long, long time, both boring and depressing, setting up a PPV that is generating no excitement and filled with matches that no one wants to see.

I guess we need more McMahons or something.

See this is what I was talking about. We all know since the start of the brand split Smackdown was more exciting and had better wrestling. But how can you say in the last 2 months, how has Smackdown come even close to raw. Raw has been highly entertaining. If it was not for Eddie Guerrero and Angle, Smackdown would be totally unwatchable. Raw has a lot of good angles now and smackdown has none. I like the bounty angle, shane and kane, lance storm, jericho hating austin, hbk and goldberg, steiner heel turn.

Tell me something entertaining that is on Smackdown, I dare you.
Benoit with Atrain-Nope, try again.
Eddie vs Big Show-Nope 2 strikes
Vince Mcmahon reality show-strike 3 you're out.
Lesnar vs Undertaker- Not feeling it.
Angle vs Cena-has best potential.
Ultimo Dragon-ruined and doomed to be on Velocity
Spanky-see dragon
Billy Kidman-See dragon and spanky, and gets even less crowd reaction.

Raw is better. Admit it.

But how can you say in the last 2 months, how has Smackdown come even close to raw. Raw has been highly entertaining.

No.

It hasn't.

Unless you think Goldberg vs. MARK FUCKING HENRY is your idea of a quality main event.

If it was not for Eddie Guerrero and Angle, Smackdown would be totally unwatchable.

Outside of Chris Jericho, there is NO good reason to watch RAW.

If Booker T comes back from his injury, there may be two. That's it, though.

Raw has a lot of good angles now and smackdown has none.

Smackdown has been deficient lately, but I'm not willing to say that RAW has good angles. Let's address the ones you've listed.

Bounty Angle - It has potential, but the future looks bleak as the booking is already fucked up: they're advertising a Mark Henry / Rodney Mack v. Goldberg / Shawn Michaels match for next week (Mack & Henry should have been nothing more than one-week squashes for Goldberg) and it's almost a forgone conclusion that Kevin Nash will come back and be the one to collect the bounty. Did the WWE learn nothing about what happened the first time Nash went over Goldberg?

The Shane & Kane angle is probably the most disgusting on all of RAW, because they took Kane, built him up into an unstoppable monster heel, got him OVER in that role, and then pissed it COMPLETELY away by having him become personal job boy and bitch to Shane McMahon. Oh look, a McMahon going over the actual talent, I'm so utterly shocked and surprised.

Lance Storm? You think Lance Storm has a good angle going? You would maybe have a point if Storm was going to be put into the IC title hunt alongside Christian & RVD, but booking plans don't seem to be heading that way.

Jericho is always entertaining, but his feud with Austin is utterly useless as Austin has continued to be booked stronger than Jesus and there can be absolutely no satisfactory end to this feud as Austin is literally a cripple who can't work a match without fear of paralysis or death. Thus, this is just an angle that is possibly designed - or at least its end result is such - to keep Jericho languishing in the midcard.

HBK & Goldberg could be good, but Goldie is booked to feud with Nash (who may actually be a WORSE worker than he is).

And while Steiner is better as a heel, he's largely washed up and a feud alongside Test against the Dudleys will do him no good.

The angles on Smackdown currently all suck, but again, I stand by my earlier statement - the actual workers themselves are better, and thus, when they have matches together, the end result is better than pretty much anything on RAW.
