I just beat the first level of the game, and I'm already addicted to it.

Everything feels right when you play it. The controls are solid, the gameplay is spectacular, and the cel shading and level design is some of the best on any system.

One of the main features is the ability to slow down time. It's feels a little like the Matrix's bullet time, but trust me, they did it better than anyone.

The game is pretty tough, but not to the point of being annoying. It's just hard enough that it's satisfying when you beat someone. The combos you set up are so fun.

If you like any kind of action game or you're an old school gamer you'll feel right at home. It's really nice to play a side scrolling game on a next gen system.

I can't tell you how fun this game is. It feels perfect when you're playing it. Please, check this out. It's one of the best game I've played in a while. It ranks with the best on any system.

I bought this game yesterday and loved it. I played through the first level and a little into the second. (I was having a prob with the big barrel after Captain Blue, and it was getting late, so I went to bed)

Can't wait to play more this weekend.

I played the demo a few months ago and enjoyed it. It sounds like I'll have to pick this one up.

The demo was essentially the first level, but it's so unbelievably good. My one complaint - the length you go before saving and having to redo a level.

Yeah, you do have to play a good bit to save it, but I'm fine with it.

I just beat the helicopter, which was awesome!

I'm looking forward to sitting down for 5 hours and playing it non-stop.

Beat Episode 2 last night and the game just keeps getting better and better.

TIP: buy the thing that speeds up VFX recovery. It really, really helps.

I'm halfway through episode 4...WOW!

It gets really, really hard.

Jon, are you on Kids mode or Adult? I'm on kids and the 4th Episode is crazy, but it's still a lot of fun.

Adult. My tendency is to play games at "medium," so it's challenging but not impossible. Since there were 2 choices, I went with adult, plus it'll unlock more shit when I beat the game.

One question: I played the airplane level last nite. Was there a way to turn my little plane around or did I just have to dodge the bullets coming from behind? I beat it, but I'm just curious.

No, as far as I know you can't turn the plane around.

Now I feel like a pussy for not playing it on Adult, I'll have to do it after I beat it on Kid.

I checked it out tonite and.. man! It looks old school at first, but it just gets deeper and more elaborate. I'll have to save my nut and get me a cube now!

sr71, you don't know the half of it. It's a true 2D game in a 3D environment (i.e., there's depth but you can't interact with it directly... but your opponents can).

I beat the episode 4 boss last night (don't want to post a spoiler on that one) with 1 health thing on my last life. Then I saw the timer and tried to zoom out of the submarine. I was so pissed when I took damage and had to refight that bastard. I beat him later that night and went to bed. :)

Wow, I just beat the Episode 4 boss. That was tough.

It's really rare when your money feels so well spent on a game. Most of the time I get a few hours of play out of a game and throw it off to the side. This is not the case. This was $50 well spent.

I'd give it a 9.4.

3rd best game on the GameCube after Wind Waker and Metroid Prime.
