Maybe I missed the boat on this one, may be it's old news already, maybe it's a big joke that I just don't get, but whatever it is it certainly caught me off guard.

According to this month's Maxim, in the review of his new album, D has apparently found God and is giving up his thug life. This includes no longer recording albums. Maxim rated this album with a full score (5 stars or whatever it is they use, probably implants) and said it was a stellar sendoff for one of hip-hop's biggest and brightest stars.

i read a little while back that he was going to stop making records and focus on being an actor. Give him 2 years until he has literally no movie carrer left, then you will see DMX return to making records.

DMX has said this before, but he seems to really mean it this time. Apparently he's fed up with the way the label is selling his product.

Also, Jay-Z has said that he was going to retire, but it aint gonna happen. He is the only reason Rocafella makes any money, so he aint stoppin any time soon.

I think Jay Z will stop making solo records, but still appear and promote other artists for the label. But remember that it's not just a record company. THey make more money selling Rocca Wear (Posh Spice is the new spokesmodel) and the liquor they have out. Plus, he owns that new club that's making loads of money and an endorsement deal with Reebok I think. He has no need to rap anymore.
