NWA/TNA, the video game?

[RF Godfather]

NWA:TNA will announce a video game deal in the very near future. There was a rumor circulating regarding a deal with the EA Sports company in past weeks, however, I can not confirm this is the company which will produce the game.

Now if it is EA Sports, didn't they do a crappy job with WCW Mayhem? I love the Kodak head film capture and all but the ring, crowd, intro with the horrible pyro and the irregular looking bodies took alot from gameplay. Don't get me started on its feeble C.A.W. option.

I guess it is a good thing? At least TNA is expanding on its merchandising. Maybe it looks better now that they will be on PS2, XBox and/or Game Cube. I can only hope.

i think its great that they are deciding to expand...and for all we know it could end up being a completely different team working on this under the EA sports banner, lets hope so anyway...I like this idea and any game that involves the likes of AJ Styles and Chris Sabin is a game i want to have

I'm not really familliar with Aki's wrestling games, but I do know that THQ has been so far the best at wrestling video games.

EA will fuck it up. Acclaim has that crap Legends of Wrestling, Eidos has Juggalo Championshit Wrestling (well, technically with Backyard Wrestling). I say they let Midway get their hands on it or some company that is well versed in the way of fighting games.

This has been in the works for some time now; it's why NWA has been signing their talent to contracts - it's more difficult to ensure the merchandise rights without them.

As for those unfamiliar with Aki, Aki makes FANTASTIC engines for wrestling games. Some of the very best.

if your referring to smackdown...no they dont the company Yukes makes those games...personally I think that they should let Neversoft take a crack at it...did wonders for skating with Tony Hawk...its just a suggestion

I think I was wrong, Aki was not involved with the abomination that was WWE RAW. THQ and Jaks made it i think. Aki was involved with the good games that THQ made (No Mercy, Wrestlemania 2000, WCW/NWO Worl Tour)

THQ does not make wrestling games. They acquired the WWF/WWE licenses and then farmed them out.

Aki made all the WWF wrestling games for the N64. More recently, they did Def Jam Vendetta (good engine, disappointing game) and MUSCLE (haven't played it).

Jakks did WWE Raw for XBox.

Yukes did all the PS and PS2 Smackdown games.
