View Full Version : Number Trivia Q Contest aka It's 4am
Mike Teacher

OK this is really stupid but its 4am and I'm up so screw it.
I saw my last post was #714, and of course in my head...Boom: Babe Ruth and Hank Aaron. Ruth's record, and the man who broke it.
I love number trivia, so I want Number Trivia. And make it good. 12 = a Dozen? Weak
Find a really cool thing we will remember when we hear 629, or 8031, or whatever. And not the easy stuff like Big A.S.S. Card #s. Something that could be used in a Trivia Pursuit Game. And not just Sports stats. Am I whining?
And maybe present a number and see if we can guess why it's significant, and not because it was the year you lost the Big V. Something Trivia Pursuit sorta Usable. No I'm not trying to invent a new game. I seriously love this shit.
Here: Why are these significant?

nine times table......
9x2 = 18...... 1+8 =9
9x57 = 513..... 5+1+3 = 9
9x18229 =164061...1+6+4+0+6+1 =...18..1+8=9
any # multiplyed by 9, regardless how large, will have a sum whos #s add up to be 9
Therefore.....
pick a # between 1 and 9.......
multiply that # by 9.......
take those two digits and add them together....
subtract 5 from that digit....
if A is the first letter and B is the second and so forth, assign the letter in the alphabet to that #...
think of a country that starts with that letter....
think of the second letter on that country and think of an animal that starts with that letter....
think of the color of that animal.......

Nope....1814 was the number for Janet Jacksons Rhythm Nation album (yes laugh...i thought it was awsome..for it's time) And also the last battle of the war of 1812 was also fought in 1814...the William Tell Ovature was 1812.

1215
THIS was the year for the Magna Carta...also known as the Exemplification of 1215.
6.0235 x 10^23
the number of atoms (or molecules) in a "mole"
714
will now always remind me of the greatest season by a team in MLB history, the winning percentage of the 125-50 New York Yankees of 1998.
-399, absolute zero in degrees Fahrenheit.
Absolute zero is actually -459 F...as for -399, I have no idea of its' significance.
As for my submission...for the mathematicians:
1
...and for the sports fans, an easy one:
