32 people, half the people in my office, got laid off yesterday. 90% of them are more valuable to the company are so much more valuable to the company than i am. 32 people get laid off, yet i get a kick ass raise....it's killing me.
and i still cant get over the fact that i hurt somebody who truly was my soulmate, and no matter who im with, he'll never match up to the one who was meant for me

I like to think how Mike Teacher thinks, that no matter how bad you have it in America, its nowhere near the horrid living conditions in Africa and South America, thats why i cant stand the kids in High School who are "depressed" because someone wont go out with them, or angry that they cant get a dress from the mall, hundreds of children die a day because they dont have anything to live on, worrying about stupid shit like that is just stupid and pointless. We all should be thankful for what we have, life, shelter, food, a family, health, and even our education (which may seem boring or useless at times).

Yeah it can ALWAYS be worse. When I went to Honduras I saw madd poverty. One time I got up to leave an outdoor cafe in Tegucigalpa and a bunch of 6 year olds attacked my leftover food like they hadn't eaten in a month. (THEY WERE POLITE ENOUGH TO ASK FIRST IF WE WERE DONE!!!???!!!) I felt bad and gave out dollar bills to some of the kids. Makes ya think,,,

Sigh...that it were only hundreds. I asked myself that question one day. How many children DO die a day? The estimates run into the tens of thousands.

Perhaps 40,000 a day, mostly due to malnutrition and/or Opportunistic Disease.

'Opportunistic' is a term used by the CDC and others to describe a disease which is, usually, wholly curable, if not, preventable.

The history of AIDS began when people started dying of opportunistic disease, namely pneumocystis pneumonia [a bug in your system that usually your immune system has No trouble wiping out] or Karposi's Sarcoma, a weird form of skin cancer.

Meaning, kids are dying do to lack of clean water. To put it bluntly, you have too many people using the same water for too many things, and the microbes buildup, and kids die from diahrrea/dehydration and other water-borne intestinal diseases. Yes, a joke is begged here, but christ 40,000 a day? Thats how well we take care of the children on our planet. A crime.

[edit: the joke begged here, for my sick mind, involves some african tribe shitting and eating in the same water. Well, before you judge them, you know where people are dying by the thousands because they use the water for too many things? NJ, NYC, DC, and Boston for starters. NJ, where I live, is like the Penn Station of Cancer. From the makeup of this board; i would venture to guess, and this may shock, but there ya go: from 1/4 to 1/2 of us will die cancer.

And for whoever said they like to think how Mike the Teacher thinks, thanks that's generous, but Please don't take ANYthing I say as true, or even valid. I talk a good game; that's what teachers do. There are geniuses, there are really intelligent people, and then there are those who just know a lot. I know a lot about a couple of the bazillion fields of science. And if one thing is true in science, it's that however we are currently thinking on the Nature of something, we are most likely Dead Wrong.
