Yeah it's IBEW. I'm trying to get into the Westchester-Fairfield section.

Well you're lucky. IBEW is one of the last unions in my opinion that still fights for the conditions of it's workers. So good luck and TEST those lines brother.

They'll probably just ask you if you have a dependable ride to jobs and if you're willing to abide by their rules. Other than that, you either know what you need as a journeyman or they'll teach you what you need as an apprentice in school and on the job.

Yeah, Moe, I'm going to have to go to school. I know someone who is retired from 3 in Westchester (he's the one who told me they were taking applications) but he said he's talked to the director of apprentices and the delegate at meetings. They told him that the state has their hands in it now. When I first applied it said we would know by late summer. Now he was told the state made them take 800 applications insted of 400 and it won't start until January.

Yeah he said at somepoint during the interview they'll ask me how I found out about it and I should mention his name. He did 35 years and still goes to every meeting. He never had big pull but he's never vouched for anyone either so the fact he's brought my name up should count for something.
