Whatever happened to there being a fly in your soup? (http://channels.netscape.com/ns/atplay/story.jsp?floc=FF-RTO-reodd&idq=/ff/story/0002/20030919/132500986.htm&sc=reodd)

I really wish this would happen to me.

The tramatic experience of finding a tooth in my soup wouldn't be too bad after my huge cash settlement.

I'd even be the spokesperson for Cambell Soup.

The way I look at it she shouldnt get any kind of large settlement and probably wont.
Maybe a years supply of soup ..... without so much bite.
The question is how in the hell did a tooth get in there ?
Thats the shakey part.

I work for a company that produces consumabale products and they get calls/accusations like this all the time.
They will investigate this and find out that its not true.
Those canning facilities have such a hi-tech processes that there's no way that product would get to market.
Watch, you'll see it was a hoax.
Just like the old syringe in the Pepsi trick.

Whats the weirdest thing that consumers have said they found in your products? Dont give any names.

We get all the standards : bugs, mice, rat droppings, etc ..
The occasional wacky fingernail, bandaid and the aforementioned syringe ( this one had its heyday ).
But I can assure you that none of them are true. They pass through scanners along all stages, temperatures are checked, the weight is measured to the .00000000000001th place, and all sorts of other checks and balances.
The last syringe one that I remember was a guy who had somebody that was a diabetic in their house and they " accidentally " placed an old needle in a can of unfinished product. He only came back with that version after they had asked him to send them, postage free, the product and foreign object. He knew he's be busted. Like some jackass at our facilities is using a needle above a canning machine. As I said its all mechanical anyway so unless the machine was shooting up it couldnt happen. The funny thing is they probably still gave him some coupons for free stuff.
