Is there a site or something available online where when you take tracks off a CD to your system and make them mp3s that will allow you to label the files as they should be?

What I mean is, I use a program called Audiograbber which lets me take tracks on a CD and puts them on my pc as mp3 files. When audiograbber is done the file names are listed as such... 05 - Track 5.mp3

I'm curious if there's a website that has all the song titles to albums and will convert those file names over to the song titles, as opposed to doing it by hand. I know that sounds lazy and I don't really mind doing it, but if there's an easier way I'd like to do find out.

in the 'preferences' section of the program should be an option to establish a link with cddb.com .... also, search cnet.com for some mp3 renamer programs, i use 'tag scanner' which works well enough .....

If you open up the MP3 folder and right click on each file you should be able to name them right there.

Or...

In Easy CD Creator when I load in the disc, in the Track Listing you can switch from Track # to name by rioght clicking and Renaming. Sometimes the files are named right there for you as well. Then you can either copy the tracks as MP3 or a wav. if you copy them as a wav file you can then convert them in Music Match.

Maybe I'm a sap, but I just use Windows Media Player to copy CD tracks to my PC and it has a huge media library that has info for all my CD's, even soundtracks, imports and free CD's that come with magazines.

Get a Mac and use iTunes.

And after that, I've got a bridge to sell ya...

Seriously, what good ARE Macs? I had one for about two-three years that I loved for film and sound editing, but now PC has surpassed them on even THOSE capabilities and software availability so I got rid of it. I'm not saying they're not capable systems, but you can get like a fraction of the soft/hardware you can get for a PC. Why bother? They seem like such a gay, hippie thing to have these days...

iTunes is the best mp3 program I've ever used. While programs like Winamp are trying to overdo all the shit their program can do, they ruined what made it great, simple, quality mp3 playback. iTunes for Windows is coming... eventually.

I totally agree with that. I still use WinAmp 2.79 it's one of the last great versions before it got overblown with things I didn't need. I once upgraded to 3.0 and quickly went back. 2.79 is quick and easy to use and just doest what I need it to do, playback my music.

Well, the Mac was 2-3 years old, I bet a new Mac would surpass that old one (That is if you can afford it, Damn those things are pricey!)

I use both a Mac and PC. I love iTunes, wish I had a iPod to go with it, but for MP3 ripping, it's the best!

I also loved WinAmp before 3.0
