Wow.
I never get tired of seeing the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknowns, and always go out of my way to take visitors there when I have friends and relatives coming from out of town to do some sightseeing. These guys are the epitome of control and precision, and their watch over the Tomb is one of the most moving things I've ever seen.

Maybe this answers the question of whether or not the guard on duty during the 9/11 attacks broke formation. The Tomb is in direct view of the side of the Pentagon that was hit, so I wonder if the guard went to help, reacted in any way or stayed at his post...
