There is absolutely nothing that i can find to do online anymore. I have no interest in looking at pornand this site(no offense) seems to be alot less productive now.

Even the amount of people on my BL now seem to be alot less active.

You would think "surfing the Web" would help but I have yet to find a decent site to kill some time at. Instead I sit for collectively an hour or so and play Yahoo-Bookworm. How gay is that?

Am I the only one noticing this?

Is the Internet just as much if not more sucktacular to everyone else here?

This Concludes my Internet rant.

Holy shit, I feel the exact same way. If I'm on this site way too much, I'd already had read all the posts, and I probably made all the last posts. Then I'll go onto other sites I sorta forgot about. It gets boring because it takes too much time to catch up on what I missed. I will eventually do google searches on random topics. If that gets me bored, I'll start writing useless javascript programs, like when I'm doing now.

The problem isn't that there's nothing new, the problem is that i spend waaaay too much time online to the point where i feel like i've seen everything. I can't wait until i start working fulltime, then when i come online there might ACTUALLY be something for me to do.

I have also had this dilema. I am on the net a lot, but most of the times i'll just sit in my uncomfortable chair staring at my monitor. i will state that the board has become uber-lame. i remember when i used to post back in december of 2001 and there were a lot of topics going on at once and such, i couldn't keep up. but now your lucky if there are like 10 new posts an hour.

but i keep my internet going, i play neopets for a little bit (Toddevf44 is my account there), then i start an impossible d/l that will take hours because i have such a shitty connection (till that gets fixed in at most 3 weeks). I'll watch a couple movies, stay online just incase someone IMs me, and play video games.

I agree, its hard to imagine with so many millions upon millions of places to see on the internet, that it gets to the point that there isnt anything interesting to go to to check stuff out. Im not big into games or anything, so my enjoyment is more active/reactive thought provoking fun that borders on the bad taste, without being malicious.

NEOPETS as Todd stated before, it wastes hours on end, and theres plenty of games to play and plenty of things to do. When that gets old i normally check out some Fark (http://www.fark.com) and then head over to The Prp (http://www.theprp.com) to check up on some bands that ive never heard of or news on ones i like. After that i just fire up some computer games: Soldier of Fortune 2, Starcraft, a bunch of things.

This board has gotten old and tired. Alot of the good posters asre gone or have grown up or have to work during the day. People like Doogioe, Todd, Violent Jay, Brainthebailbondsman, Horde King, The Chairman, alot of great posters have left and all we have now is a few good posters and alot of bad ones. Once Ron and Fez come back to New York, i hope that this board will turn around, buit i dont know.

But what do you expect when like 20 or more experienced posters either leave or are forced off the board and are not replaced with equal quality posters? I think what's happened lately is posters leave and are replaced by like 5 face screen names that no one is fooled by.

I could run down a list of problems, but why bother. Bottom line is we can't have fun here unless people RESPOND. And it can't be the same 10 people everytime or every thread will turn out the same.

As for the rest of the net, I think if I had a faster connection I'd have more fun. I could download games and videos and shit like that. Neopets got old already. The internet is starting to wear thin.

I agree with this. I'm not saying it's any one person or whatever. But perhaps just a phase of the board. I've sensed this board having it's ups and downs from time to time since I joined. I think that lately the board has been more downhill that usual but I think it will find it's way back up like it always does. I definitely didn't intend to derail this thread earlier (if I did), just making comments on what I was feeling at the time.

As for the internet being sucky, I totally agree. I have seen little in the way of good exciting sites with content to interest me and to help me pass the time. Though what I generally do when I have nothing to do or see online, is to either watch a movie, or read a book, play games or music, or take a walk. Go for a ride or whatever.

I think that the problem is that some people dont see humor in the same way as other and are hyper sensative in certain areas. Maybe its because this is a printed medium and its hard to express the humor universally. The old saying about one rotten apple spoiling the bunch has merit here when a few of the hyper sensative people see something they disagree with and thay take a stand on and turn a post into a yelling grandstanding match. Its like people who try and heckle a comedian or a politician, just because you disagree with them, doesnt give you the right to ruin everyone elses listening pleasure. That concept seems to have been carried over here and the "ranter and ravers" of this board want it brought down their way.

I'm relatively new here, and I enjoy the board. I cannot speak for the past but I always find something to converse about and have a little fun. I don't take it too seriously, nor what I have to say as well. I do see some that can be a bit sensitive, but I just ignore them and move on. Make the best of what you got.

I agree. It has pretty much lost all appeal, except when I need to find something specific. I notice there's not as many new posts to read when I check the board at work but I still enjoy coming here or I wouldn't be here.

But I either spend way too much time watching TV and movies (which I enjoy way more than the internet) but I'm actually becoming more active. I'm starting to draw again, trying to exercise regularly and am even thinking about taking some drawing/painting classes or maybe even some cooking classes. I need structure in my life or I just waste the whole day on my butt smoking.
