On rhe eve of the sneak showing of JSBSB I just finished watching Chasing Amy again and maybe it's the lateness but it was a lot better than I remember. I mean I always thought it was a great movie but I just saw it appreciate it more now than I ever did.
Anyway onto the point of this thread which is your favorite Kevin Smith movie?
1. I think that CLERKS still might be my favorite because of the entire feel of it, how it's the funniest Smith flick and the Randall/Dante relationship still hasn't been topped.
2. AMY is probably my second favorite since it's probably his best written, most professional and had the best performances by the entire cast, definitely Affleck's best performance ever, Adams was phenomenal and Jason Lee, as always, showed that he can act very well.
3. DOGMA comes in third place. It's very good, very funny, had a great cast but I just don't think it reached the quality of AMY or the humor of CLERKS. But still plenty to like about it, definitely a 4 (out of 4) star movie.
4. MALLRATS is in fourth place. It's my least favorite but still a great movie. I know people complain about it being too slapsticky, too 'Hollywood' but that's what he was going for and I thought it worked. And you have to give props to Mallrats for at least one thing- Jason Lee. I still think it's great how Lee just stole the entire flick.
So what's your favorite Kevin Smith movie/order in which they rank in your ranking system.
"Nothing can kill The Grimace"
