Does this (http://shanana.com/) bring back memories? I used to watch when I was a kid on my 13' B&W tv.

Roland the headless Thompson gunner... The eternal Thompson gunner, still wandering through the night. Now it's ten years later but he still keeps up the fight. In Ireland, in Lebanon, in Palestine and Berkeley. Patty Hearst heard the burst of Roland's Thompson gun And bought it

I remember when my ex-wife(then girlfriend) dragged me to a Sha Na Na "concert" at Radio City Music Hall in the late seventies!! I would rather have run a cheese grater across my dork!!!!

Hell yeah! They were on at 7:30 on CBS (ch 2 for you New Yawkas).

Sha Na Na introduced me to The Ramones. It was '78 or so. I don't remember what song they played (I do know it was under 3 minutes and had less than 3 chords! :)) I was MESMERIZED. My life and love of music changed from that point on.

There is no Sha Na Na without Bowzer. They're dead to me.

I remember Shanana. I met one of the guys years after the show went off the air. He was going through med school at the time.

I need to stay out of Old School. It's a constant reminder of my own mortality. Yes, I remember the show as well. For those of you who don't quite understand, it was the 70s. Everybody got a variety show. To name just a few:

Sonny and Cher
Sonny
Cher
The Captain & Tenille
Donnie and Marie
Shields and Yarnell
Carol Burnett
Bert Convey
Joey (Heatherton) and Dad
Barbara Mandrell and the Mandrell Sisters (although this one was probably the 80s)
Diane Carroll
The Brady Kids
Tim Conway

Anyway, back to Sha Na Na... Does everybody remember that they played at Woodstock? Weird.

I somehow remember watching this show when I was very young. All I remember about it is the old woman hanging out of her window.

Agreed.

He was going through med school at the time.
I think he meant to say "rehab".

In my opinion, there's nothing in this world beats a '52 Vincent and a red headed girl.

What about Shields & Yarnell? Tony Orlando & Dawn? Sonny (sans Cher)? Starland Vocal Band? Bay City Rollers? Glen Campbell? Mac Davis?

And the list could go on forever!

I use to love the Sha-Na-Na and The Muppets hour block when I was a kid. One sketch that Sha-Na-Na did that always stayed in my mind was when they lived in a house on the side of a mountain and the house was at such a steep angle everything kept sliding out the front door. What the hell was that all about?

Of course Sha Na Na was at Woodstock, just check the album or movie credits. In fact Bowzer is most remembered for playing that"Morning Maniac Music",announcing that the New York State Thruway was "Closed Man!",giving birth, and single handedly gave out ALL of the "brown acid".

.....or was that Larry Fine?
