I was getting into a 60's or 70's econoline van but before i jumped into the passengers seat there was Mark getting in the back with about 4 other guys. as i sat in the front i looked at the driver but didn't recognize him, then i looked in the back and there was Mark talking and laughing with the other guys. It was night and all i really saw were outlines of the guys in the back.
The van had powderblue crushed velvet seats and i remember we went down a steep hill and almost went through a stop sign, then made a left.
Next we entered a hall where tables were setup with tablecloths, silverware, plates, etc and Mark sat across the table from me, seats to my right. I remember looking at his face and I could see his age and it looked very rugged, there were scars about his eyes and nose and he look like a beatup street cat. I thought to myself "how could someone who looked so rugged have such a soulful voice". There was another man sitting next to him and he looked beatup too and i started to think if they were cocaine addicts or using some other heavy drugs.
a bit wierd but lately i've been thinking about how eventually he will get too old to perform anymore and it just makes me a little sad. You want your favorite musician to be around forever but it's just not reality...
