I know there are several renditions of King Arthur's story, Camelot and Knights of the round table. But which one is faithful to the original story?

I remember an old movie version of the story not sure what was the name (maybe it was Knights of the Round table) where Percival was the son of Lancelot of the Lake, and in the end, the "Voices" told him (after the fall of Camelot) that he was the purist of them all (something like that) and a bright light illuminated upon him.

In the movie "Excalubir", King Arthur was the son of Uther and pulled the sword from the stone. In the end everyone dies except for Percival, who King Arthur instructs him to throw the sword into the Sea.

In "First Knight", Lancelot is an entertainer/demonstrator of the sword who's parents were burned in a fire after a raid on his village. One of the Knights of the Round Table (Malagant?) goes against the values set forth by King Arthur, and leaves the Round table to wreck havok upon the lands. Henceforth, Lancelot takes his place and in the end, Malagant and King Arthur die and Lancelot is together with Geineeviere.

And of course there's the version by Monty Python and the Search for the holy grail. It's been awhile since I've seen it, so I'm unable to give a summary.

Thanks.

The Ron and Fez show transcends all boundaries!

The most accurate retelling I've ever seen was on the FOX network on Sundays.

It was a cartoon about a Football team sent back in time after a bus accident in order to Camelot.

In order to get back to the present, the knights had to recover keys that were strewn throughout Camelot.

Read "Idylls of the King" by Tennyson or "Morte D'Arthur" by Thomas Malory. Both excellent.

Or just rent "Black Knight" with Martin Lawrence.

In my opinion, there's nothing in this world beats a '52 Vincent and a red headed girl.

By original story, I'm assuming you mean "Le Morte du Arthur" (sp) which of course isn't the original story. There is no original story, as King Arthur is a myth passed down for hundreds of years before written by Mallory (though possibly based on a real Saxon Chieftain)

My favorite movie version of the arthur story will always be "Excalibur." It's fairly accurate, very moving, and gets the theme of the Arthur story perfect.

going back further, I'd recommend "Sir Gawain and the Green Knight." It's one of the side-myths of the arthurian legend, and this is just a great movie.

After following Tall James and Dark hippie's advice on Le Morte d'Arthur and Excalibur you should read this

which, in my humble opinion, should be required of every sentient creature on the planet.
