Man, what happened to these watches?
I remember back when I was in grade school, these things were all the rage. Everyone needed to have them. And we did. I have like 3 or 4 of the things.
Now, are they even a brand? I haven't looked for them in awhile.

I found an assload of them last year when I was in London and I believe you can still get them at Swatch shops in NYC and all over the place for that matter. I got a special Swiss Cheese one from Australia a few years back and I love it.
All my friends on the Hamptons always go gaga for them whenever I wear many of my many styles of Swatch. Not sure if they go gaga cause they want one or cause I am just not rich and snobby enough and don't flaunt my cash and drive an awful BMW. I got my Swatch though!
We kid like that.

I have two. I remember when they made one called Irony. The see-through ones were my favorite. They are actually well made time pieces with Swiss movements. The battery replacement was very easy due to thoughtfull engineering and all you needed was a quarter to open the battery door!

I have an Omega. (They are owned by Swatch)
There are Swatch Stores at Tyson's Corner and Pentagon City Malls (probably some other Mall/Shopping areas in the DC area as well)
They put out a 20 watch collection a little while ago to commererate the 20 James Bond films.
They haven't gone anywhere, just not as popular as before, fads move on, but they are good, inexpensive watches.

I still wear my Irony every day. It was about $160 ten years ago, but I lucked out as I was in Switzerland on business back then and got it for about $100. The thing takes a beating.

I had the London Club Swatch several years ago. It was bad ass, but the strap broke and I couldn't get that band.

So I guess the answer to my question is "Nothing happened to Swatch."
I just stopped caring if I owned one or not.
